Bringing this Kashino Cosplay from Azur Lane to life took considerable effort from initial styling to final shots. Because the entire costume pairs white with light purple, it had very high requirements for lighting and clean surroundings. The White dress gets dirty easily and features an exceptionally large hem, requiring constant attention when moving between sets or sitting down to avoid stepping on the edges or soiling the lace. For the shoot, we deliberately chose a pure white western-style interior setting, which perfectly accentuated the texture of the wig and the white curved horns of the headpiece.
In terms of hair and makeup, to stay true to the character, I chose pinkish-purple colored contacts and blush, focusing on portraying a gentle demeanor. The twin-tail portion of the wig was styled multiple times to keep the strands looking voluminous and natural; fixing the purple bows and white floral hair accessories on the sides of the head also required meticulous care to ensure nothing broke illusion from any angle. The paired long white gloves were form-fitting, and because they closely contoured the arm lines, moving around during this Portrait photography session was fairly convenient. The white choker around the neck, paired with a small silver padlock pendant and a lavender bow, served as the visual centerpiece of this look.
When capturing the first frontal shot, the photographer utilized diffused window light—that soft fill light made the white of the White dress appear immaculately pure, allowing direct eye contact with the camera. The second shot focused on profile lines and the flow of the hair; the look of bowing the head was interpreted by channeling the character's big-sisterly, embracing nature. The third photo incorporated a donut as a prop, adding a playful touch to the scene; when holding it, hand movements had to be carefully managed to avoid excessive glove creasing while maintaining a relaxed posture and a slightly mischievous expression.
Post-processing focused mainly on color softness, preserving the dreamy aesthetic of the original white and purple palette. Since this outfit contains numerous ruffles and lace details, harsh lighting could easily make it look cluttered, so the overall color grading leaned toward a translucent feel. Documenting this White dress photoshoot as part of my Coser daily life was a bit demanding—the skirt was heavy, and sitting on the chair required constantly arranging the hem to maintain a perfect shape—but seeing the final results made all the preparation worthwhile. This shooting experience was thoroughly enjoyable, bringing vibrant emotional resonance to the static costume through specific props and character expressions.
