For this shoot, I chose Laffey II from Azur Lane. I had been wanting to try this Bunny girl look for a while, and the moment I received the costume, I was impressed by its quality. The glossy blue bodysuit paired with the oversized white bell-sleeve shrug, along with white Stockings and bunny ears, delivers tremendous visual impact. To faithfully recreate the character, I prepared a long white curly wig and a miniature blue hat in advance, even verifying the placement of the plush pom-poms and rabbit pendant ornaments one by one.

The shooting location was tucked into a corner of the convention hall. The ambient light on-site was rather dim and the background was cluttered, so we put considerable thought into our lighting setup. The key light was angled in from the front-diagonal, which highlighted the glossy sheen of the bodysuit fabric while making the white Stockings look airy and translucent. We kept the background underexposed to make the subject pop. I deliberately brought along a white plush rug—partly to avoid sitting directly on the cold, hard floor, and partly to brighten the base of the frame in visual harmony with the white socks.

For props, I brought a bottle of red wine. Posing with a wine bottle is surprisingly tricky, especially when sitting or kneeling on the floor where balance can easily falter. Merely clutching the bottle would look stiff, so I experimented with holding it single-handed, resting clasped hands over it, or placing it right in front of me to pair with bent-knee angles. White Stockings really shine in such moody lighting; bending and extending the legs elongated the lines and enriched the visual layering. However, kneeling on the floor in white Stockings poses a high risk of snags, so I had to be extremely cautious whenever shifting postures, taking the weight on the insteps or sides of my knees to avoid broad friction against the ground.

The sleeves of this outfit are exceptionally wide and finished with sewn plush pom-poms. Whenever the sleeves swayed, the pom-poms bobbed along, yielding fantastic dynamic motion in burst shots. For makeup, I opted for reddish eye shadow paired with colored contacts to channel that signature blend of languid detachment and subtle mystique. The biggest challenge with Convention photos is always the bustling environment, with passersby walking past or clutter scattered around. That's when the photographer's angle selection is vital—using a wide aperture and dedicated lighting to melt the background away and lock visual focus firmly on the character.

From location scouting to wardrobe adjustments, the shoot took around two to three hours. Even though sitting on the hard floor in high heels and Stockings left my legs slightly numb, seeing the finished frames made every bit of effort worthwhile. This Laffey II ensemble offers huge creative freedom in costume detailing and prop synergy; guiding each posture was crucial, and every tweak brought me closer to her authentic demeanor. I look forward to exploring more diverse styles next time, continuing to refine the details and deliver even better visual work.
