The floor shots from the Azur Lane Cooling Festival are finally ready, and the very first coordinate we captured was Sally's maid bunny. To achieve studio-grade polish right on the bustling convention floor, I brought a full portable lighting rig. Convention hall illumination is notoriously chaotic—overhead stadium lights and competing ambient spill easily cast harsh facial shadows while flattening garment textures. Once our lighting array was calibrated with proper key and fill ratios, our keeper rate soared immediately.

Touching first on the styling: the wig featured blue-to-purple ombre twintails blended with natural gradation, anchored by subtle pastel-pink dip-dyed ends as a crowning touch. The patent black bunny ears atop my head had an impeccable sheen; unlike standard plush ears, this glossy finish channeled a sharper, cool-toned 2D mechanical edge that formed a striking textural contrast against the delicate white lace hairpins.

Regarding the wardrobe, the monochrome maid dress was densely packed with nuanced tailoring. Crisscross black-and-white lace-up straps across the bodice and midsection cutouts not only introduced visual depth, but also sculpted bodily contours before the camera. The black ribbon bow at the collar was accented with a small golden jingle bell that caught specular highlights under the strobes. On the lower half, the white apron was edged with fine black lace, while multi-tiered black ruffles along the hemline draped with weighted fluidity in motion.

The hosiery and footwear pairing served as another essential anchor of this look. Sheer black Stockings paired with glossy patent leather Mary Jane shoes featuring buckle straps elongated the line of the legs. While posing, I intentionally utilized crossed and extended leg angles to chisel out clean lines—adopting single-leg raised or side-seated postures kept the framing dynamic and prevented stiff compositions.

Throughout the session, I explored diverse expressions, shifting from docile charm seated on the plush rug holding the mascot prop card to sharp, confident hand signs while standing. Brandishing that cartoon character prop card not only added compositional variety, but also established playful interaction with the camera lens.

Shooting on the floor is worlds apart from a controlled studio: the hall is loud with crowds constantly passing by, making it challenging to carve out clean angles within a constrained booth area. The blue-and-white tile walls and striped flooring were native architectural features of the venue; I deliberately laid down a light-colored plush faux-fur rug as a ground buffer, which tempered the cold blue background while making seated poses far more comfortable.

The coordinate carried noticeable physical restriction—particularly the cinched straps around the waist—yet regulating my breathing and holding an upright spine before the lens unlocked the best silhouette. I packed ample spare camera batteries and high-speed memory cards to ensure every detail of this look was fully archived. From combing the wig and smoothing out fabric wrinkles to balancing warm and cool color temperatures on the lights, every decision demanded rapid on-the-spot judgment. Convention photography is always an endurance run of stamina and patience, but the moment the final deliverables materialized, all the exhaustion from tweaking lights and resetting garments melted away. I'll be cataloging the remaining sets soon, but this maid bunny shoot stands safely archived as our Cooling Festival kickoff.
