When shooting these Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay Oath Wedding Skin convention photos, the industrial-style trusses at the top of the large convention center and the highly intense reflections on the ground formed the background tone of the entire set of images. Because it adopts a heavy-crafted blue-and-white wedding dress, walking around inside the exhibition hall was actually very inconvenient. However, under the photographer's guidance, the moment I stepped into the frame, I needed to immediately discard all the physical weight and try my best to present the character's highly agile visual effect.
The costume design this time fuses ice-blue lightweight tulle with a white slim-fit bodice, utilizing a massive amount of lace, mesh knots, and pearls for embellishment at the garment joints. The fluffiness of the lower hem is superb; to support the elegant and natural lines of the skirt-tossing action in Figure 1, the interior actually layered several linings of stiff mesh support. Meanwhile, the light blue bow at the chest intertwines with the translucent mesh at the waist, which, paired with the long white satin gloves, manifests a clear sense of layering under the overhead lighting—making the overall look both lightweight and filled with the exquisite craftsmanship of heavy production.
During the shooting process, that oversized white floral headpiece on my head and the unfolding veil heavily tested the photographer's control over depth of field; if handled poorly, it could easily overshadow the main subject. As a cosplayer, I needed to constantly pay attention to the flow of the veil during posing, ensuring it wouldn't rub against my facial makeup. For the hairstyle, grey-blue was chosen as the base tone, adding vibrant cyan highlights to the bangs, which, paired with light blue colored contacts, seamlessly blended with the color tone of the skirt hem.
To facilitate switching poses, this shoot also prepared a silver aluminum alloy suitcase as a prop and a temporary resting point. In Figures 3 and 2, discarding the white glossy platform high heels and sitting on the suitcase made it easier to exhibit a relaxed, natural sense of ease. Naturally crossing or extending my legs, complemented by the interwoven blue-and-white faux flower bouquet nearby, creates a casual yet exquisite composition that I absolutely love. The material of the flower bouquet itself features matte petals, showing no obvious reflections under the overhead light, and its blue tone forms a beautiful color harmony with the cyan highlights.
The environment at the anime convention was actually very noisy, with the background filled with various booths, equipment, and visiting tourists. To highlight the main subject, the photographer used a large aperture to blur the background, discarding the cluttered environmental elements and transforming the convention's high-gloss floor lighting into blurred reflecting spots. This unique expression method of Anime cosplay perfectly filters out the mundane feel of the real environment, distilling a pure, dreamlike character aura. The posture in Figure 4, sitting on a high stool with both arms raised, aims to showcase a slightly playful and lively side of the character; though the movement is simple, it excellently brings out the vibrance of this Oath Wedding Skin.
Although this blue-and-white colored dress looks exceptionally clear and translucent visually, it is actually very prone to wrinkling, so after completing each pose, I would quickly check if the lace edges of the skirt hem had any sharp creases pressed into them. After several hours of high-intensity shooting, the burden on my feet was massive. But as a cosplayer, using physical stamina and mental state to recreate anime characters inside the exhibition hall is the basic duty of every appearance. Seeing that the final output successfully captured these clean moments in such a spontaneous convention photos environment makes the sense of fulfillment very real.
