This Blue and white maid outfit for Rem took a long time to finalize during the preparation phase. The primary fabric chosen was a thick white twill that resists glare under direct flash while supporting the garment's silhouette. The cuffs and neckline feature multiple layers of white lace frills, and the skirt uses a structured mesh netting underskirt to maintain the expansive volume of the outer blue dress. The oversized blue bow at the waist features a pink round button in the center, and the apron hem is printed with "Sweet strawberry" and colorful strawberry motifs, edged with white ruffled trim. To facilitate movement during the shoot, the skirt was cut relatively short, perfectly revealing the White thigh-highs outfit on my legs.
The wig is a soft pastel blue with longer bangs, requiring self-trimming to fall right over the eyes. There is a subtle pink streak on both sides; to make this highlight blend naturally, I meticulously smoothed down the wig fibers to prevent any frizz. For makeup, I achieved the heterochromia look using blue and pink colored contacts, deliberately opting for subtle nude-pink eyeshadow and heavier blush against a pale foundation to emulate the translucent clarity of an Anime girl.
The shoot took place at the outdoor grounds following the convention, with a slightly textured permeable paver surface underfoot. Because ambient lighting was very dim, the photographer utilized reflectors combined with a frontal flash strobe as the main key light in this Night outdoor photography session. Since direct flash easily washes out skin tones, I asked to attach a diffuser softbox to soften the light. The stockings worn this time were common nylon White thigh-highs, paired with white platform Mary Jane shoes whose thick soles made each shoe noticeably heavier than normal footwear. The single-leg standing pose was tricky to balance—shifting full weight onto the left foot while raising the right leg high and keeping balance, with the fluttering skirt occasionally blocking sightlines, relying entirely on the photographer's rapid snapshots. In contrast, the peace-sign gesture in Photo 1 was much simpler, requiring only an upright posture and cheerful hand placements to match the mood.
During the shoot, onlookers gathered around and curious passersby took photos, which was slightly distracting at first, though I gradually acclimated. Night outdoor photography lighting is inherently challenging to control, and capturing a crisp, clean shot tested our patience. Wearing heavy platform shoes for an extended duration naturally caused some foot fatigue. Post-processing focused on controlling contrast, crushing background shadows to isolate the subject, and preventing the Blue and white maid outfit from blowing out while preserving fabric texture. The hair and costume tones were subtly harmonized to create a softer, more gentle visual aesthetic.
Despite various little episodes throughout the process and a chilly night breeze, shooting a style I truly love was deeply rewarding. I particularly adore the second photo, which captured dynamic motion so vividly, showcasing sleek leg lines through the single-leg stance with even more vivacity than the first shot. From the delicate lace to the embroidered garment details, I'm genuinely delighted with this styling endeavor. I hope everyone can feel the care and passion poured into this shoot!
