This Rem outfit was specially prepared for the holiday theme. During the preparation stage, I specifically selected a black-and-white maid dress with lace frills, paired with white stockings and fluffy leg warmers. The blue wig was trimmed, and combined with the beast ear headpiece on top, achieving high visual fidelity as an Animal ear maid was the top priority of this shoot. In terms of fabric and materials, the lace along the cuffs and apron edges needed to be sufficiently crisp to support the garment's silhouette when standing. Securing the tail also required technique; adjusting the belt position took quite some time to ensure a natural curve in full-body shots.
The shooting location was an indoor studio rich with a winter vintage atmosphere. The red velvet armchair, the Christmas tree in the background, and small house ornaments established a wonderful environmental tone. Warm-toned lighting was used during the shoot to give the skin a translucent glow while fitting the cozy feeling of a winter indoor room. To master character expression, half-body close-ups demanded focused eye control. In the full-body profile shot—the one chosen as the cover—the focus was positioning leg postures to make the lines of the White tights cosplay and fluffy leg warmers look even more slender. Picking up a red Christmas bauble also allowed its spherical reflection to help brighten my cheeks.
What took the most thought throughout the shoot was capturing that feeling of caring for her older sister during interactions with the Ram cosplayer. The shot of us hugging in Photo 1 was retaken many times to avoid fabric creasing and tail tangling. In post-processing, we mainly unified skin tones and adjusted highlights to soften the studio atmosphere. This shoot was not just a simple photoshoot, but the result of meticulous attention to costume, makeup, and props in this Christmas costume. Wearing this maid dress evoked a wonderful sense of familiarity, as if truly stepping back into the Roswaal mansion in Lugnica—only this time, the setting transformed into a vintage room filled with festive Christmas spirit. Meticulously refining every garment detail and movement was key to creating these photos. The resulting shots preserve the character's intrinsic personality while embracing the winter holiday ambiance. From overall image texture to localized details, every effort was made to deliver the best quality.
