A lot of thought went into this Angel Rem styling starting right from trimming the wig; the light-blue short hair needed to maintain airy volume so it wouldn't cling flat to the scalp. The floating metallic halo overhead was handmade using thin wire and clear acrylic sheets, taking some effort to secure onto the wig so that it stayed firmly mounted without leaving noticeable traces in the hair. The white feather hair ornaments on both sides were chosen for their natural feather texture, echoing the giant white feathered wings on the back. The outfit is a pure white multi-layered dress, generously incorporating ruffles and lace at the collar and cuffs for a rich sense of dimension. To match the overall pure white palette, I selected White stockings layered with subtly textured ankle socks, with a round white plush rug laid underneath so the visual tone stayed cohesive even against the venue's cold, reflective floor.
The lighting at the convention was extremely bright; dense ceiling spotlights created beautiful bokeh in the lens, yet posed challenges for exposure. To prevent overexposing the face and losing details, I positioned my face in softer lighting zones during the shoot while utilizing reflections from the floor to enhance overall clarity and translucence. For the first photo, I chose a seiza kneeling pose, gently touching the feathers on my head with my left hand while extending my right hand forward, palm up—an inviting gesture intended to convey gentleness and approachable warmth. Gazing straight into the lens required keeping my focus calm and untroubled by distractions.
The second photo shifted to a side-seated posture, holding a white plush cushion. The inclusion of this prop made the overall ambiance much softer and more cozy. Extending my legs forward naturally and shifting my weight back showcased the drape of the skirt and leg lines. The White stockings looked remarkably clean under the lighting, complementing the texture of the plush rug. This time, instead of looking at the camera, my gaze was lowered to the side, carrying a tranquil, slightly languid charm.
The third photo was taken sitting completely curled up on the floor, wrapping both arms around my knees. While this posture didn't reveal many front details of the costume, the wings on my back, cascading skirt hem, and white rug blended into a continuous space tinged with subtle solitude. Head bowed with closed eyes, it felt as though I had discovered a peaceful sanctuary amidst the bustling convention hall.
As a cosplayer, facing the lens is not merely about displaying exquisite attire, but also about communicating the character's inner state through body language. From the inviting reach of an open palm and the softness of embracing a plush pillow, to the introspective poise of holding knees with lowered head, this set of Convention photos records my complete portrayal of Angel Rem. Cultivating the character's signature serenity using simple props and a pure white setting in a noisy hall made for an incredibly rewarding Rem cosplay experience.
