[Cheshire Cosplay] Dreamy purple flower dress in Azur Lane

This Cheshire Cosplay dress styling has been in preparation for quite some time, and today I finally wore it for a studio photoshoot. The moment I received the costume, I was impressed by its high color accuracy—broad white lace spliced with sheer light-purple sleeves, along with multi-layered ruffled skirts that create rich depth whether walking or sitting on a chair. The most eye-catching part is definitely the oversized ruffle bow on top of my head, which, combined with the iconic golden bells, yields stunning photo results.

During makeup styling, I specifically emphasized the hair color transition. The cyan-blue and gray gradient wig exhibits a soft, translucent sheen under studio lighting, and the hues at the ends blend seamlessly with this vintage dress. For the makeup, I opted for a luminous, clear texture, accentuating the contours of the eyes while applying a slightly deeper lip color to ground the airy feel of the white costume. Paired with a White thigh-highs outfit, it maintains a pure color palette across the entire look while drawing visual attention to the head bow and dress silhouette in this Anime cosplay.

The set was purposefully decorated like a sunlit afternoon garden, capturing the essence of a Sea of flowers photo shoot. A natural wooden table, woven bread baskets, pink flower petals scattered across the floor, and an expansive wall of white and pastel-blue blossoms in the background made the details pop. In terms of posing, the photographer and I explored two distinct vibes. In the first shot, I sat on a wooden chair with legs crossed, gently touching the edge of my headpiece while looking straight into the lens, aiming to capture Cheshire's confident yet cat-like mysterious demeanor. This poised seated posture perfectly showcases the layered ruffles of the dress and the White thigh-highs outfit.

The second shot takes on a completely different feel: with eyes closed and feet resting gently on a small rattan basket below, it creates a lazy, cozy, and relaxed mood. The soft shadow cast by eyelashes when closing my eyes, combined with cascading purple floral bouquets nearby, creates an unposed snapshot full of storytelling that aligns with the character's airy, dreamy quality. Because the set contained abundant flowers and fabrics, studio lighting was kept gentle rather than harsh, preventing the lace and tulle from overexposing while keeping a warm, creamy tone across the series.

When shooting such a light and airy dress, the biggest concern is looking overwhelmed by the garment. When framing angles, I consciously used subtle body movements—like pointing my toes or angling my body—to emphasize body contours. Although the dress fabric is light, its tailored 3D cut allows the skirt to fan out naturally while seated, harmonizing with the slender leg lines of the White thigh-highs outfit for flattering proportions. Overall, the shooting process was delightful. The synergy between the character and the set, coupled with the photographer's delicate lighting control, preserved the character's signature cute, lazy charm while infusing a touch of Lolita aesthetic and romantic photography.
