For this convention photo set, I chose an extremely challenging costume—Xiao Wu's styling from Soul Land. To present the best possible state at the Zhanjiang Yunxige Comic Con, a long period of preliminary preparation went into it. The most eye-catching feature of this outfit is the gigantic purple-pink skirt hem; to make it capture an ethereal, floating feel on camera, we tried numerous methods on site. Due to venue limitations, using a leaf blower wasn't an option, so most of the time I had to rely on my own jumping and spinning, combined with post-production stretching to arc the skirt, alongside friends tossing petals to successfully capture that weightless moment. The skirt's reflective material, paired with studio-like lighting beneath the convention venue's industrial steel-frame structure, made the texture look exceptionally high-end.

The costume has an abundance of intricate details: the silver armor accessories on the chest and the gemstone ornaments on the waist all required careful securing prior to the shoot. To prevent them from falling off due to excessive movement, I used plenty of hidden snaps. The White stockings on my legs featured specific patterned designs, paired with silver glossy high heels on my feet; the straps were a bit tight against my skin, but I endured it for the sake of visual effect. The bunny ear headpiece also required precise angle placement, as certain angles make it look overly abrupt on camera. Throughout the shoot, the greatest challenge was maintaining Xiao Wu's agile yet slightly playful aura. When striking poses, hand gestures needed to be relaxed without clenching fists too tightly, and the gaze had to carry that sharp, spirited edge typical of a young heroine.

Shooting time at the convention was actually quite tight, with large crowds and complex lighting on site. Huge thanks to the photographer, Huang Hun, for finding this amazing corner featuring a steel-structured ceiling and artificial turf with white flowers. To capture the expansive tension of the spreading skirt, many poses required me to be semi-suspended or supported by a single foot, which severely tested core strength. A few shots captured the split second I jumped into the air; landing safely without stepping on the skirt is surprisingly tricky, so I kept silently chanting the technique guidelines in my heart. This project placed high demands on my physical expressiveness, such as keeping facial expressions intact while in motion. I hope this photo set lets everyone feel Xiao Wu's vibrant energy, and I also want to thank all the friends who helped hand props and arrange the skirt on site that day.

Regarding hair and makeup on the day of the shoot, to align with the character's 2D texture, the eye makeup emphasized color contrast, and styling the hair took some time. Particularly the two long braided pigtails needed to be tightly woven with a certain hair texture so they looked authentic when whipped around. The silver headpiece on the forehead and the necklace on the chest, though lightweight, catch the light, requiring careful control of reflection angles to avoid overexposure in the frame. The costume features multiple layers; the pink fabric on the upper body has subtle jacquard patterns, while the purple skirt hem on the lower half has an inner white lining. When adjusting the skirt's shape, both inner and outer layers needed to be visible to build textural color depth. The white petals tossed during the shoot echoed the artificial flowers on the ground, creating a dreamy, magical atmosphere. The entire shooting process was essentially a continuous cycle of adjusting details and experimenting with new poses. The fun of convention hall photos lies in this realism and interactive vibe, bringing characters right out of the screen and into real-world settings.
