[Xiao Wu Cosplay] New vs. Old Version Fit Comparison and Detailed Clothing Review

This Version 3.0 set is indeed quite different from Version 2.0. Having just put on the full outfit, I'd like to share my direct hands-on and worn impressions.

First, focusing on the pros. The cinching effect around the waist and abdomen shows remarkable progress compared to Version 2.0. The tapered fit paired with structured fabric paneling outlines the entire waistline very clearly, while the silver-gray armor decorations on both sides of the waist fit the body curve perfectly without awkward outward flipping. The arm ornaments have been redesigned into a top-and-bottom fixed structure that fits snugly against the arm, preventing them from sliding down at all when making movements or raising arms—much more practical than the old version, so you won't face the embarrassing situation of having to repeatedly pull up your sleeves mid-shoot.

However, there are also quite a few major flaws after actually wearing it. What required the most repeated adjustments was the bust placement; the overall structure is designed somewhat too low. After putting it on, I had to pad it with silicone inserts or adjust the shoulder straps of the undergarment, otherwise the visual focus easily drops below the ribs, making the upper torso look a bit bulky. The sleeve cuffs are designed extremely wide and fail to fit the forearms at all; the fabric is soft and loose, so even when I straighten my arms, the sleeves still bunch up heavily around the wrists, looking very bulky when moving—this structural design is honestly a bit comedic.

The lower half also presents a major issue. I am 156 cm tall, and the garment length of this size S is too long for me. The pink semi-sheer tulle skirt itself is multi-layered, quite heavy, prone to puffing out, and has a strong drape. However, I lack the height to pull off this length, which visually shortens my already modest legs by 5 to 10 centimeters. The matching socks hit my precise pet peeve: not only are they short, but the side patterns are positioned very low, resting right at the ankle and lower calf, directly pulling down the leg proportions and making the calves appear short and thick.

Regarding size fit, my measurements are 84 cm bust and 62 cm waist, a slim build. The shoulder width and waist dimensions of this size S fit perfectly. Yet precisely because the size fits, the issues of low bust placement and sleeve redundancy become even more glaring. If I chose a size larger, the waistline would probably be ruined; if I chose a size smaller, the shoulders would dig into my skin. It places rather strict demands on body type.

In terms of fabric texture, the main white fabric on the chest carries a glossy reflectivity with clear silver printed lines. Although the pink mesh on the lower half looks pretty, it easily generates static cling against legs, sticking when walking. The shooting environment was indoors at night, where the warm ambient lighting was extremely unfriendly to skin tone—making it look yellowish and dim. Since light-colored clothing already tends to make skin look darker, combined with warm lights, my face and neck skin tones dropped several shades darker on camera, requiring reliance on post-processing white balance adjustments. If shot outdoors during daylight, the effect should be much better.

Regarding the photoshoot, elongating legs in photo edits as described in posts is indeed necessary because the actual lower hem is too long and swallows up height; slightly lengthening helps improve proportions. In daily reality, though, one can only rely on heeled shoes to rescue the crushing pressure of the hemline. During my shoot, I specifically stood on tiptoes or found angles to prevent the skirt hem from pooling on the floor.

Furthermore, because the upper body features an off-the-shoulder halterneck design and my hair accessories and hairstyle weren't fully set up yet, the neck and shoulder area looks a bit bare. Adding a wig and headpiece later should help balance the visual focus of the upper body, slightly softening the small defect of the low bust placement. As for the loose sleeve cuffs, adding an invisible snap button or elastic band yourself should fix it, though the default original structure is indeed a headache.

Overall, Version 3.0's upgrade in waistline definition is definitely commendable; the base color scheme is very aesthetically pleasing, soft with an ethereal aura. However, the loose sleeve cuffs and low bust placement significantly impact the wearing experience. If a Version 4.0 is released in the future, I hope they improve sleeve fit, redesign the length proportions of the skirt hem and socks, and optimize the bust pad position—that would make this outfit much friendlier for petite cosplayers.
