[Vivian Cosplay] Hollow Violet in Zenless Zone Zero

Seeing the news about Zenless Zone Zero's server maintenance recently caught quite a few Proxies off guard. I was originally thinking of rushing to post and share this set of photos right after finishing the shoot, but ended up waiting for server maintenance first. However, looking at it from another angle, this gave me time to settle down and organize this work properly. Taking advantage of this downtime, I can talk in detail about this styling and shoot, adding a bit of fun while waiting for the servers to open again.

This time, I tried the Vivian cosplay styling from Zenless Zone Zero. Many friends might think that the most eye-catching part of this makeup and styling is the large area of light purple wig paired with white highlights, but when actually crafting it, you realize how troublesome the detail processing is. The texture of that wig needed to be fluffy without collapsing, especially that lock of white hair curving upward at the top. To maintain its 3D dimensional shape, I used styling spray combined with a heat gun to sculpt it bit by bit, while taking care not to produce unnatural shine—just this single spot took nearly an hour of repeated adjustments. The sideburns and hair tips were styled with soft, large curls, so under the lights, the sheen of the hair strands looks exceptionally light and airy.

For restoring facial features, the red contact lenses are undeniably the absolute soul, paired with reinforced red smudging on the lower eyelids and thick, long fairy false eyelashes, making the gaze appear cool yet mysterious before the lens. The mole under the corner of the eye serves as a finishing touch, adding a playful vibe to the entire Cosplay makeup. For lip color, I chose a glossy berry-red lip stain, which improves skin tone without being overly exaggerated, maintaining a great texture under soft light. Combined with the large, pointed Elf ear style on both sides, the overall exotic and fantasy feel pops out instantly.

As for clothing, I selected a white lace-trimmed collared base shirt paired with a well-tailored black leather vest as an outer layer. The sense of layering mainly stems from the bow tie design at the chest—deep blue striped fabric combined with white stitching, plus that purple gem embedded in a metal base at the exact center, making it the most ceremonial accessory in this Anime-style fashion outfit. Additionally, the blue bow hairpin on the side of the head echoes the color of the bow tie nicely, keeping the image's color palette centered around purple, white, deep blue, and black throughout.

Because the overall character design carries a touch of mystery and cool aura, I decided to use a cool-toned indoor fill-light setup during shooting, casting a top light to highlight the 3D contour of the hair highlights, and using a ring light to soften facial shadows. This maximally lowers the color temperature, presenting a cool yet dreamy atmosphere in the frame. During the shooting process, to express the character's confident and slightly cunning feel, I intentionally posed with one index finger supporting my chin facing the camera in the second photo, gazing directly into the lens, which perfectly conveys that tsundere yet sharp personality.

Although the game is temporarily inaccessible, being able to record and restore beloved characters through real lens language in this manner is inherently a fun-filled process. Although managing the wig and matching accessories for this look was very time-consuming—especially with the leather vest being quite stuffy to wear—the final photo results reached expectations. That character temperament cannot be stacked up by clothing alone; it requires expressions, gazes, and body language to bring out, and during this process, I also figured out some new hair and makeup techniques.

As a record of character creation, I hope everyone can feel the charm of this styling through this set of photos, and I hope the game finishes maintenance soon so we can continue exploring the world of Hollows.
