[Yakumo Yukari cosplay] Touhou Project: Photoshoot in the Purple Flower Field

This cosplay shoot was set in the sage flower fields at Garden Expo Park, and we headed out fully geared up for this Touhou Project Yakumo Yukari cosplay. For the shoot, I wore a black-and-red lace Western dress featuring delicate draped chains at the neckline; the black corset and miniskirt design flattered body proportions gorgeously, complemented by black Suspender stockings and over-the-knee socks on the legs. The headpiece adorned with white flowers and horn-shaped ornaments was the highlight of this look, which brought out an icy, glamorous allure once paired with long wavy blonde hair. Before shooting, I applied pink-purple toned eyeshadow, paired with deep crimson lips and long eyelashes.

The most crucial prop was the black lace parasol decorated with red bows and white tassels; it was quite heavy, leaving my arms genuinely sore after holding poses all day, but completely worth it for the composition. The dress had a tightly cinched waistline, and adjusting the corset lacing across the back took considerable time. In shooting, a wide aperture was primarily used to blur the purple flowers in the foreground, accentuating the rich texture of the black dress in this Anime-style portrait photography. The photographer directed several angles, mainly utilizing profile shots and head-tilting poses to convey the character's sense of mystery.

Because the breeze was somewhat strong, the fluttering long blonde hair paired with black sleeves and red bows produced a wonderful blend of motion and stillness. Moving back and forth along the stone paths between flowerbeds during the shoot made it quite easy to trip over the skirt. In post-processing, the overall frame was darkened while boosting the saturation of the purple tones, adopting a cool palette to accentuate her cool, aloof aura. Looking across the entire shoot, what satisfied me most was the vivid color collision between the black Suspender stockings and the sea of purple flowers. The costume and props were rich in detail, with white lace trim and red ribbons acting as bright focal points amidst the dark color scheme. This outdoor shoot also tested the expressiveness of Gothic Lolita aesthetics under natural light, where seamless lens work and complete wardrobe styling determined the final image quality.
