Preparing this Marisa Kirisame cosplay look actually took some time, especially that exaggerated large ruffled hat—after the frame was propped up, it took up even more space than expected, but it is precisely this over-decorated feel that recreated the character's unique aura. The wig chosen was light blonde long curly hair with voluminous large curls at the ends, and the bangs were trimmed quite thick to give a doll-like surreal look on camera. For makeup, I deliberately enlarged the eye proportions, using light amber contact lenses and long fake eyelashes; since the character's eyes are highly recognizable, this European-style double eyelid paired with soft blush allowed the face to maintain 3D dimension even under strong light.

On the day of the shoot, we chose a wild daisy field where the white sea of flowers and yellow centers happened to echo the black-and-white color scheme of the outfit. While scouting the location, I thought that although Marisa is a magician, she usually picks mushrooms in the forest, so placing her in a cluster of flowers actually brings a gap moe. The costume has many details—the black lace trim at the collar was hand-sewn, the black sheer sleeves on the arms feature star prints along with white ribbons, requiring a long time of adjustments during wear so that every layer sits flat.

A wide aperture was used for this shoot to blur the background, turning the Flower sea outdoor photoshoot setting into soft blocks of color so the subject pops naturally. The photo where I rest my chin on my hand was meant to convey a feel of \"I came to pick flowers, but looking at you is quite interesting too.\" Since the character's personality is playful, carefree, and persistent, I kept my movements relaxed without rigid poses. Touching a flower with my other hand was to give the frame an extra visual anchor point so it wouldn't look too stiff.

Post-processing didn't involve overly exaggerated color grading, mainly unifying the lighting to keep the white flowers and off-white costume clean, while slightly suppressing the green background's saturation to avoid stealing the show. The black piping line on the hat was crisp, perfectly fitting the vintage European fantasy style of the Touhou Project series. Every time I shoot a look with a large hat and long curly hair, my biggest worry is the wind; fortunately, there was only a gentle breeze that day, with occasional petals drifting onto my sleeve, adding an improvised lively feel instead.

Honestly, I'm quite satisfied with this set of photos because it was my first time trying to shoot such an intricate Blonde Western-style dress in such a dense natural environment—guaranteeing the dress wouldn't catch on flower branches while capturing facial expressions and gaze. The character's signature elements—blonde hair, large hat, black-and-white palette—were all showcased. Although missing the broom and mushrooms, Marisa in a sea of flowers would probably also be willing to set down her spellbook and sit down to soak in the sun. Looking back at the sample shots after filming, the balance of light, shadow, and color achieved the expected effect, and the integration of character and background was great, making it a very complete outdoor experience.
