Today I want to share with everyone the shooting record of this Genshin Impact Vodyanitsa cosplay. Regarding the overall visual setup of this character, I made a lot of preparations beforehand. The first problem to solve was the wig; when trimming this teal hair wig, I had to consider the layers of the bangs and sideburns. To make it look natural yet maintain a fluffy feel, I used a hair straightener for multiple fine-tuning and styling sessions. For the hair ornaments, I chose light purple translucent flowers with golden stamens dotted in the center, worn symmetrically on both sides, which can increase the overall sense of balance and detail richness in front of the lens.
The costume is the focal point of this shoot. This is a fantasy-style outfit with white as the main tone, featuring a large number of ruffles and pleats at the collar and cuffs, especially the bell-sleeve design of the sleeves, paired with silver metallic-textured rings, making the overall look extremely gorgeous. The large pendant on the chest can be said to be the soul of the entire costume; a silver-gray metal frame wraps around a circular hollow design, inlaid with blue and green rhombus gems below, accompanied by green tassel hanging ornaments. When wearing this outfit, it took quite a bit of time to tidy up the petticoat and the shape of the cuffs, ensuring all accessories were in the correct positions to present the best state in front of the lens.
In terms of makeup, to get closer to the visual effect of an anime character, I wore bright blue colored contacts. The eye makeup chose a large area of pink-toned blending, focusing on deepening the eye socket and the outer corners of the eyes, while applying a large area of pink blush to give the face a cute vibe with a slightly intoxicated feel. The lips were painted with a glossy, pinkish lip gloss, slightly revealing a small canine tooth to increase playfulness. The nails were specially done with light purple long manicures, echoing the overall cool tones.
Pose design during the shoot was also crucial. In the first photo, my hands' fingers touch to form a rhombus gesture, framing the gemstone pendant on my chest right in the middle, with my gaze staring straight at the lens. The second photo features both hands making peace signs placed next to my face, paired with a smile to show a lively state. Since the costume itself was already complex enough, a pure black backdrop was chosen for the background, combined with cool-toned lighting, which could make the white clothes and teal hair stand out even more, with a strong contrast of light and shadow, presenting a fantastical and mysterious atmosphere.
The entire shooting process greatly tested physical strength and patience; wearing complex attire required constantly adjusting postures to ensure the integrity of props and clothing. However, being able to record these carefully prepared elements through the lens and seeing the finished photos made me feel that everything was completely worth it. Afterwards, I will continue to try different styles and polish my makeup and photography skills.
