[Miss Hina Cosplay] The Fox-Cat Maiden of Genshin Impact: Today's Afternoon Repose

Preparations for this Miss Hina cosplay began last month, taking nearly three weeks to fine-tune everything from the gradient dye of the wig to the inner support structure of the fluffy ears. The teal silk off-the-shoulder dress seen in the first photo was custom-patterned and modified by me; because the original gold trim details on the neckline and cuffs were difficult to capture on standard fabric, I used gold threads with two different reflectivities for the embroidery, allowing richer visual depth under warm indoor studio lights.

On the shoot day, we selected a Chinese-style teahouse and a Japanese tatami room, aiming to utilize natural wood grain textures and floral bonsai to highlight the outfit's Oriental fantasy allure in a Traditional style indoor photoshoot. The mahogany brocade box and rose in photo 1 were arranged deliberately; to mimic Miss Hina's lazy yet slightly tsundere demeanor, I turned sideways with knees bent, letting the skirt drape naturally while using black gloves to gently touch the floral branch—a piece of body language that adds storytelling depth.

The composition in photo 2, where I reach out a hand in greeting, was designed to showcase the white fluffy pom-poms on the cuffs and the black leather choker with a gold pendant, both of which are prominent from a frontal perspective. Furthermore, this angle beautifully reveals the pairing of White socks and geta; the blue ties of the thick platform geta harmonize wonderfully with the teal tones of the dress, while delicate ankle straps visually elongate the legs. The lighting technician set up a side-rim light to create a soft halo around the white bangs of the wig, distinctively separating the bright top layer from the darker base.

Moving to the tatami room in photo 3, I adopted a pose holding a brush while reading beside a red plum bonsai. This posture tested core stability, as the tails for the Animal ears cosplay are quite heavy. Though built with bendable wire armatures inside, the center of gravity tilts backward, requiring me to shift weight forward while kneeling. The red-bound scroll held in my hand was hand-stitched by me, filled with fictional runes from Genshin Impact; though illegible at a distance, its high precision defines the photo's texture upon zooming in.

What required the most effort was perfecting the fox ears for this Animal ears cosplay. To make them look seamless, I utilized skin-toned invisible mesh and flocking techniques so the ear bases flush against the scalp, concealing hard headband edges even during sharp head turns. The fur color was matched to the wig to ensure a naturally attached look. Crafting props took substantial time, but the final images achieved that intended balance between traditional tranquility and vibrant anime elegance. To prevent shedding during filming, styling spray was applied to set the ear and tail fur, ensuring a smooth, sleek texture on camera.

Ultimately, this combination excels in indoor settings, where wooden doors, gauze curtains, and floral arrangements maintain visual balance with the teal gown. If taken outdoors at a convention, a backdrop of bamboo groves or red maples would work, though it might sacrifice the soft ambiance provided by indoor studio lights. I feel the resulting photos capture the character's essence beautifully, and I hope this series allows everyone to feel Miss Hina's warm yet mysterious charm in Genshin Impact.
