[Yae Miko cosplay] Mist and Butterfly Night scene special effects in a Genshin Impact Shoot: Photography sharing

When shooting this Yae Miko cosplay Cosplay photoshoot, my pre-shoot communication with photographer Ah Guan established a dreamy, mystical aesthetic direction. Considering the character lore of Genshin Impact, we selected a lace Western-style dress featuring a white base with pink lining, paired with white high heels to elongate leg lines. For photo one, the drifting movement of dry ice mist was utilized to obscure background distractions; the over-the-shoulder glance focused on the subtle interplay between my gaze and the edge of the smoke, with profile framing accentuating height and silhouette. For photo two, we opted for a centered frontal composition; lifting the skirt hem not only showcased the harmony between legs and footwear, but also reserved visual space for adding dynamic butterfly Night scene special effects in post-production.

Throughout the shoot, we calibrated key and fill lights to ensure even illumination across the face while using backlighting to illuminate the dry ice, creating a richly layered backdrop. Posing required continuous refinement to control the drape and pleats of the skirt in sync with the photographer's camera blocking, preserving visual cleanliness and staying faithful to the character's aura. The long pink hair styling caught the light wonderfully in the night environment, and pairing this white dress against the dark-toned floral backdrop yielded stunningly cinematic results.
