[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact's Liyue Maiden: Chinese-Style Photography New Year Shoot

This Chinese-style photography set inspired by Ganyu is finally released. Before this shoot, I kept pondering how to blend her in-game persona with a rich real-world New Year vibe. Ultimately, I selected an indoor setting filled with traditional Chinese elements, where warm-toned lighting gave the light blue wig a soft and sophisticated luminosity.

Costume design deliberately preserved the original black-and-blue core while adapting an off-the-shoulder cut better suited for studio work. The gold trim and ornaments on the fabric cast subtle reflections under light play. The long red tassel at the waist served as the visual focal point of the upper body, draping naturally whether walking or sitting to blend motion with stillness. To pose comfortably on the wooden bench, I opted for barefoot framing before the lens, paired with semi-translucent black long gloves on my arms, aiming to convey a relaxed yet slightly mysterious atmosphere while remaining faithful to the character lore.

The first photo features a seated composition with me holding a camera—a gesture I personally adore as it brings the interactive connection between character and photography closer. Seated on a white-cushioned Chinese daybed, the snapshot captured by the photographer evokes a feeling that I'm recording festive moments within this antique room. Warm accent lights at the bottom highlight the legs and tassel, giving the silhouette greater three-dimensional depth.

We put considerable thought into set design. On a delicate wooden side table sat two red-and-white tea canisters printed with "Hello New Year," immediately establishing the festive motif. Background elements like layered yellow ginkgo leaves and hanging red lanterns, combined with calligraphy scrolls behind, enriched the visual depth. In the third image where I lean semi-reclined with one arm resting alongside, the blue short hair creates a cold-warm color contrast against the yellow background foliage—a secret to achieving exquisite Anime cosplay shots with perfectly balanced color tones.

In the close-up shot, I leaned slightly forward to showcase the black arm coverings and fan-shaped sleeve detailing completely. The deep blue eyes paired with refined eye makeup establish strong eye-contact connection up close. Creating character photos like this doesn't require forced, exaggerated poses; the key lies in capturing a natural state, as if genuinely living in this setting.

Lighting control remained restrained throughout, avoiding blown-out highlights to preserve the natural wood grain and rustic texture of the Chinese furniture. This cozy warmth offers a comforting feeling in winter. The shoot went seamlessly with great photographer synergy, effortlessly conveying a sense of relaxed composure tailored for this special celebration.
