[Yae Sakura cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Dreamy Japanese-style photoshoot

For this Yae Sakura cosplay, I decided to anchor the entire visual aesthetic in a dreamy Japanese-style photoshoot. From pre-production wig styling to set building, a great deal of thought went into every single step. I picked a vivid bright pink wig, spending roughly two full days trimming and shaping to ensure it hugged my head perfectly while keeping the bangs and sidelocks layered and textured. The plush pink bunny ears at the crown were a focal point; to avoid looking abrupt, I accented their bases with faux pink and white floral blossoms, creating an organic, seamless transition into the hair. In terms of makeup, I wore brilliant blue contact lenses, opting for soft rosy shades across my eyeshadow and blush. The eye makeup was deliberately drawn outward to elongate the eyes, giving them an expressive anime aesthetic. For the wardrobe, I chose a pristine white halter-neck sleeveless top adorned with a subtle gold pendant at the collar and delicate floral-and-leaf embroidery sweeping across the chest and straps. To enrich textual depth, I added white tassel ornaments. My primary handheld prop was a pink folding fan adorned with floral motifs and natural bamboo ribs. During shooting, angling and twirling the fan created graceful flowing line work throughout the frames. As for the set design, I aimed to recreate a nostalgic traditional Japanese aesthetic. On the left stood a folding screen adorned with Cherry blossom illustrations and calligraphic brushwork, contrasted on the right by a slatted wooden lattice partition. We scattered an abundance of faux Cherry blossom blooms across both the foreground and background to deepen three-dimensional layering. In lighting design, our key light cast a gentle, warm amber glow to build an ethereal mood, accented by soft magenta halos in the background to envelop the scene in an ambient Pink color scheme. The close-up in Photo 3 is one of my personal favorites: I lightly brushed my hair with one hand while resting the folding fan across my chest, leaning forward ever so slightly—a spontaneous, interactive gesture that highlights costume embroidery while radiating relaxed warmth. The shallow depth of field softened the screen and lattice behind me, locking visual focus squarely on facial expressions and apparel craftsmanship. We spent extensive time calibrating illumination angles, as overwhelming pink backdrops can easily wash out white fabric details; adding a low-output soft fill light from the front ensured skin texture and fine needlework stayed crisp. In post-production color balance, I dialed down background saturation so the subject's pink and white hues could shine cleanly. This set wonderfully captures that calm, subtly whimsical mood, and I hope its dreamlike glow lingers in your sweetest daydreams.
