What satisfied me most about this blue-and-white swimsuit ensemble was the rich layering in its fine details. The white halter top is spliced with deep navy suspender straps and metallic buckles, accented at the bust with a striped bow and badge, while the white ruffled shorts on the lower half are paired with purple satin ribbons—visually capturing the breezy atmosphere of a Summer beach. Before shooting, I fine-tuned the wig's volume, deliberately tucking the wisps along the sides of the bangs to complement the pointed elf ears, sculpting a smaller, more dimensional facial silhouette on camera. To echo the reddish-pink pupils, the eye makeup deepened the shading at the outer corners, finished with a matte base to prevent looking greasy under intense lighting.
This studio shoot featured a thoughtfully designed beach set. The backdrop consisted of light blue wooden plank walls hung with red-and-white lifebuoys inscribed with "WELCOME" and "ABOARD," flanked by surfboards and a neon sign reading "SUMMER." The ground was laid with artificial sand scattered with colorful ocean balls. I especially adore the shots lying across the blue-and-white tiled counter; to flatter my leg lines, I raised and crossed my legs high while leaning my upper body back—a posture that severely tested core and waist strength, but the resulting elongation on camera was magnificent. During the shoot, the photographer suggested relaxing my gaze rather than constantly staring into the lens, looking away occasionally to evoke that languid, lazy summer afternoon charm.
The chunky platform heeled sandals in black and purple splicing were one of the trickier items to handle in this look due to intricate strappy ties, yet during the shoot, they beautifully lengthened my leg proportions. The purple butterfly motif on my thigh was applied with body paint; although I initially worried sweat might smudge it, the studio air conditioning remained comfortable throughout, keeping it intact until the end.
In the second series, I held a massive yellow rubber duck, one of the most eye-catching props on set. When interacting with props, I subconsciously adjusted my sitting posture—such as drawing my knees up close to my chest or hugging the duck from the side to avoid broadening my bodily silhouette. Occasionally, I lightly pinched the duck's beak or looked down at it softly; these candid, unprompted moments often proved far more alive than rigidly posed shots. The row of mini rubber ducks resting on the blue cooler beside me, combined with the colorful ocean balls across the sand, dramatically boosted the playful whimsy of the scene.
Because the set featured numerous props with saturated colors, I paid close attention to garment textures. White fabrics easily blow out under bright spotlights, so I kept in touch with the assistant to watch the reflector angles, ensuring the cloth folds and strappy accents remained crisp. During intervals, I quickly threw on a jacket to keep the light-colored costume spotless. Truly, pulling off an outdoor or studio shoot is never simple—from wardrobe fittings and wig styling to location coordination and final color grading, every phase relies on seamless teamwork.
This experience gave me a much deeper appreciation for this outfit. Wearing asymmetrical garments with noticeable fabric weight in sweltering summer weather is a true test of physical stamina and endurance. Yet seeing those fleeting moments of light and shadow captured in the final shots makes every bit of preparation feel worthwhile. That wraps up today's share—hope everyone can discover their own touch of summer coolness through this 2D creative journey!
