We chose a seaside lighthouse for this photoshoot, preparing a clear umbrella to complement the rainy theme. The droplets on the umbrella canopy weren't from real rain; instead, we misted water beforehand using a spray bottle, which captured a crystal-like shimmer under the light without soaking the outfit.
The weather on shoot day was exceptionally clear, with a clean backdrop of blue skies and the white lighthouse. However, the harsh lighting posed quite a challenge: because the sun was so glaring, keeping my eyes fully open was tough, requiring slight adjustments to facial angles to prevent squinting, alongside constant checks with the photographer on reflector placement.
As for wardrobe, makeup, and props, I specifically chose a sleek, glossy purple wig for the long straight hair and pinned a golden accessory at the forehead to catch the sunlight. The top is a classic white-and-blue sailor suit featuring a blue necktie and metallic badge. The lower half consists of a navy pleated skirt and black leather shoes, paired with dark over-the-knee socks accented with white stripes, which visually elongate the legs. When capturing full-body shots, I deliberately experimented with subtle profile turns, slight forward leans, or resting a hand lightly on the railing—leveraging the railing's geometric lines to accentuate leg proportions while letting the skirt's natural pleats drape cleanly.
Pairing a sailor suit with over-the-knee socks meant dedicating real effort to posture: pointing toes slightly and balancing body weight carefully to present flattering proportions. Posing with the clear umbrella—from holding it open to lifting it overhead—required fine-tuning countless nuances to prevent the ribs from casting odd shadows or obscuring my face.
Post-processing focused primarily on balancing the sky's blue saturation for a clear, crisp tone while preserving the natural texture of the over-the-knee socks and skin. Reflecting Jyahnar's character traits, I let my gaze drift slightly vacant during medium close-ups, conveying a calm, somewhat aloof serenity. Full-body shots leaned into a refreshing, youthful charm that echoed the lighthouse behind me. Though wearing long socks in the heat was sweaty work, seeing the final images made every bit of preparation and on-site adjustment feel thoroughly worthwhile. Overall, it was a delightful outdoor shooting experience that showcased the clean lines of the outfit beautifully under natural daylight.
