I shot Phrolova at Yuelai earlier this week; by now, the Spider Lily blossoms are probably all gone. Having just been discharged from the hospital, my stamina couldn't keep up at all—the slopes in that park were insanely steep, and I had to rest several times just to barely finish shooting. Right now, only two preview photos have been retouched, and the rest are still being worked on slowly. My physical state on the day of the shoot was honestly quite poor; I was catching my breath after just a short walk, but I really didn't want to miss the Spider Lily blooming season. The costume design for this character is very unique, with intricate layers of red and black. Paired with mint-green hair and the Spider Lily in hand, surrounded by vast stretches of red flowers, the dark-toned smoke combined with blurred foreground depth delivered a stunning visual result. In particular, the standing pose in the third photo used dense fog as the backdrop and blurred red flowers as the foreground, powerfully holding up the character's presence and creating a rich sense of storytelling and mystery. The second crouching photo focused more on detailed facial and hand expressions, capturing a gaze with intense oppressive tension. Back then, to find the right camera angle, I crouched in the mud for quite a while until my knees went numb. The hair and makeup also took a lot of thought—to match the character's cool, aloof, and fatalistic aura, the makeup emphasized red eyeshadow and deep-toned lips, and the wig color was adjusted multiple times. The photographer's lighting was very professional, dimming the ambient light and casting a single beam onto the character, which, together with the smoke machine, produced a somber, brooding ambiance that faithfully restored the character's original setting. Although my body hadn't fully recovered and the shoot was exhausting, seeing the clean, high-textured results of these preview photos made all the effort worthwhile. There are still many details to refine for the remaining photos, and I hope to elevate the texture of each frame to perfection.
