This Reimu Hakurei Cosplay shoot from Touhou Project took place at the Cixi Aegean Sea mall. Regarding this classic red-and-white miko outfit, the fabric and lace detailing were tailored with great care. The oversized red hair bow, the white-trimmed detached sleeves, and the gohei wand with paper charms in hand required considerable attention to detail to ensure character accuracy. The white tights cosplay pairing with black shoes served as an essential element, establishing clean visual contrast in motion. Shooting in a public space tested my focus: with people constantly passing by in the mall, mirror selfies were direct yet required multiple takes to find the perfect framing. On the first day, I selected spots with diffused lighting to minimize harsh floor reflections in the glass. The natural lighting at Cixi Aegean Sea worked wonderfully for this kind of real-world documentation, where lines from glass doors and architectural walls added spatial depth. Interacting with fellow fans during anime convention daily life moments is always refreshing, as everyone's passion for the characters is so genuine. For this solo mirror log, my main goal was to channel Reimu's ethereal, otherworldly presence. For eye makeup, I chose slender, elongated eyeliner with subtle blending, creating a clean, translucent finish that complemented the wig. I also smoothed out the chest and waist pleats to maintain crisp fabric lines under the white lights. Strolling through the mall, the swirling skirt created striking dynamic movement. Despite curious glances from passersby, fully immersing into the character allowed me to project the necessary confidence. For a franchise with such rich lore as Touhou Project, every cosplay presents its own creative challenges, but the sense of fulfillment from capturing the character's soul is irreplaceable. This fitting session at Cixi Aegean Sea was a joy, and I look forward to bringing even more atmospheric sets to future events.
