[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] Touhou Project: Azure Spirit Dream in the Winter Snowscape

This Azure Spirit Dream styling for Reimu Hakurei was arranged for a winter Snowscape photography session, fitting the planned cool-toned aesthetic perfectly. The costume is a gorgeous blue-and-white design; the blue fabric features subtle jacquard textures edged with delicate white zigzag lace and abundant pleated details. The headwear is an oversized blue bow accented with white lace trim, paired with wide detached sleeves in white with blue stripes and a beige-yellow bow tie at the chest. The extensive deep blue and pure white palette stood out vividly against the snow. The shooting environment consisted of snow-covered valley boulders, with surfaces that were freezing and slippery. Throughout the shoot, I had to carefully manage the skirt hem, especially with the long prop staff wrapped in semi-transparent blue ribbons and paper charms, which made my arm ache after holding it for so long, all while staying vigilant against the wind. The photographer utilized the varying heights of the rocks for low-angle upward shots; for the pose in Photo 1 lying flat across the stones and snow, the piercing cold seeped directly through my clothing, requiring grit and endurance to get the right shot. For Photo 3, I chose a seated pose on the rocks, turning slightly to showcase leg lines, where platform shoes paired with white socks looked wonderful—this pose took numerous adjustments to find the angle that best highlighted the costume's silhouette and prop details. A reflector was used for side fill light, allowing my face to catch natural light while avoiding harsh glare from the snow, and post-processing darkened the background to make the subject pop. The garment structure was quite complex, taking effort to put on and adjust, and the ribbons and lace were prone to getting dirty on the rocks. However, the resulting serenity beautifully matched the essence of Azure Spirit Dream, and the photographer controlled the cool tones of the snowscape masterfully. Although freezing during the shoot, seeing the final results made this Cosplay showcase deeply satisfying.
