The theme for this Convention photo set was genuinely playful: 'Marisa swiped the photographer's softbox umbrella.' In my usual shoots, I adore incorporating lighthearted prop interactions. Upon arriving at the Jing'an Joy City location, the first thing I did was grab the photographer's white translucent umbrella to wield as a magical catalyst. Layered alongside the monochrome dress, it sparked a wonderfully whimsical texture.

Speaking of the outfit coordination: the overarching aesthetic bridges witch Lolita styling with a dominant palette of deep navy and pure white. The headwear is a classic pointed witch hat embellished along the brim with multi-tiered white lace and golden star charms. The shoulders and sleeves feature semi-sheer mesh, framed by an intricate standing lace collar. The waist cincher is accented with gilded pentagrams and round silver buttons, flowing down to a sheer white apron with star embroidery over a tiered black-and-white ruffled cupcake skirt.

For makeup, I applied extensive pink blending under the eyes, paired with pale yellow-green contacts and a subtle nose stud to break away from pure sweetness, injecting an energetic touch of rebellious, impish magician flair. The wig was a long wavy blonde style with side accent braids that framed my face cleanly before the lens.

To showcase the garment's voluminous layers, posing required deliberate care. Standing flat in a skirt with this much weight can easily look bulky, so I relied on multiple skirt-lifting gestures—pinching the edges with both hands to flare the silhouette into a crisp bell curve, as seen in photo two. Tipping down the hat brim with one hand served as Marisa's signature pose, cleanly carving out the overall outline. In the fourth frame holding the umbrella, the translucent fabric diffused light evenly across my face while tying directly into our playful prop narrative.

Garment maintenance demanded patience beforehand: with so much delicate lace and tulle, I spent considerable time steaming every tier flat to prevent untidy creases on camera. Convention shoots are fast-paced amidst bustling crowds, requiring seamless shorthand with the photographer. While the ensemble looks substantial, it wears comfortably, yielding fantastic dynamic motion whenever spinning or walking. That wraps up this convention archive—I hope you enjoy this magician look, and I look forward to bringing more exciting concepts to life soon.
