This Lunar New Year themed Cosplay photoshoot was completed smoothly! The wardrobe and staging focused heavily on harmonizing Spring Festival festive vibes with the character's playful, dynamic energy.
For hair, a short grey-to-blue gradient textured wig was styled with a large white hairbow adorned with red floral clusters, conveying lively vitality. To reflect 2D character features, makeup prioritized a translucent foundation and defined eye accents paired with light contact lenses, instantly sharpening eye focus and lens presence.
This modernized New Year Qipao serves as the true soul of the set. The upper piece features a high-collared halter design, where a white mandarin collar with traditional Chinese frog buttons leaves elegant skin exposure around the neckline. Semi-sheer black mesh with subtle jacquard patterns spans the chest, while intricate gold embroidery on the crimson body creates striking visual contrast. Waist side cutouts connected by metallic chains and beaded strands balance traditional Eastern elegance with modern 2D playfulness.
Oversized fluffy white fur arm warmers added cozy warmth while staying true to her feline theme. For the lower half, white shorts were paired with white lace-trimmed thigh-high stockings, garter straps, and glossy bright red patent leather high heels, establishing flawless color rhythm. This red-white-black contrast provides rich depth in framing, catching key lighting effectively to highlight her bubbly persona.
For staging, we constructed a rich Chinese courtyard scene steeped in Lunar New Year atmosphere. A dark carved solid wood daybed served as the central prop, offset by flowing red silk sheets and a golden Money Tree decorated with red lanterns and festive blessing pendants. Auspicious mandarins, red New Year gift boxes, candied hawthorns, and bamboo steamers were arranged in the scene, infusing the 2D space with authentic, grounded warmth.
During capture, the photographer utilized a ring light to sharpen catchlights and sculpt facial contours, paired with warm key lighting to accentuate the festive tone. We experimented with framing angles—combining reclining and seated poses that highlighted both the Qipao silhouette and detailed accessories like garter stockings and red pumps. Maintaining core balance for natural posture was demanding, yet deeply rewarding. This vibrant red-and-gold photoshoot captures the essence of Spring Festival, and I hope everyone feels the joyful 2D festive spirit!
