When planning this Suzunami cosplay look, the first thing I settled on was the overall blue-and-white color palette of the image. To match the original work's gentle and crystal-clear aesthetic, every detail from the wig and contact lenses to the costume accessories leaned into a sense of luminous clarity. The wig featuring blunt bangs and twin-tails took a long time to style; to maintain an airy, fluffy texture, I carefully adjusted the outward flips with a curling iron. Plush animal ears on top paired with a small silver crown and dark blue ribbon hair accessories gave the head styling rich visual layers.
For the makeup details, I boldly went with a soft pink-orange drunken-blush eyeshadow paired with light blue contact lenses. Controlling this warm-cool color collision was quite tricky—if blended out too far, the eyeshadow could easily look exaggerated. Thus, I focused on the transition along the lower eyelid and outer corners, creating a subtly flushed eye look that, combined with fair porcelain base makeup, enhanced the dreamy 2D anime charm.
I always prioritize textural layering in costume styling. The white base dress is layered with a sheer light-blue overlay, capturing the delicate, translucent chiffon texture fitting for her personality. The dark blue waist paneling visually cinches the silhouette, while the short white gloves, over-the-knee white socks, and signature garter straps serve as key visual anchors. For this stocking outfit, I opted for slightly thicker matte white stockings, which ensure smooth skin texture without excessive highlights while making the leg lines appear beautifully balanced and elongated.
The posing design during the shoot was also deliberate. Because the concept emphasized a soothing and gentle atmosphere, I chose to recline on a plush white shag rug, resting my chin gently in my hand. This relaxed, languid pose avoided looking stiff while maximizing the showcase of outfit details. For an interactive prop, I chose a small yellow plushie; this yellow-and-blue contrast added a touch of vibrant playfulness to the cool blue tones, preventing the color scheme from feeling monotonous or dull.
In terms of post-processing color grading, I didn't pursue overly vivid saturation, intentionally lowering the overall contrast and shifting the color temperature toward a cool blue. The black vintage wrought-iron chair and hanging metal orbs in the room were softly blurred into an interplay of light and dark bokeh in the background. This balance between sharp and soft focus added depth of field while drawing all attention to the character's expression and styling. The lighting technician provided a very even layer of diffused soft light from the front, perfectly capturing the fluffy texture of the plush rug, which combined with the blue ambient lighting to evoke the illusion of being beside a serene, glacial lake.

The drape of the hair when lying down, the angle of the elbow supporting the pose, and the quiet intensity of gazing into the camera all shape the portrayed personality.
