\"By order of the adeptus.\" Quite some time has passed since completing this photoshoot for Shenhe. Looking through the photos while organizing archives, I not only marvel at how quickly time flies, but also re-evaluate the dedication poured into preparing this Genshin Impact cosplay back then.

Regarding costume accuracy, Genshin Impact Shenhe has remarkably rich design details in-game. When we first received the sample garment, we certainly felt apprehensive—especially regarding the waist section with patterned, hollowed semi-transparent mesh paneling and the intricate metal accessories placed across the body. Fortunately, the texture and three-dimensionality of the final product turned out excellent; the black matte leather bodysuit material exhibited a refined luster, which, paired with the red Chinese knots and tassels draping from the waist, added vibrant color highlights while maintaining the core black-and-silver scheme. Gold shoulder armor pieces and black feather accents along the sleeves further imparted distinct visual layering. To recreate that cold, slightly mysterious aura of the character, simply donning the costume, adjusting the wig, and setting accessories demanded substantial time.

Set decoration on shoot day was highly targeted; for the Traditional Chinese style cosplay venue, we specifically selected a studio featuring Chinese circular hollowed lattice windows, a low wooden daybed, and red silk drapes. Plenty of artificial blossom branches—including pink cherry blossoms and magnolias—were arranged, creating a classical, romantic environment that aligned beautifully with the character's temperament. For lighting and shadow, the photographer used warm soft light as the main tone, paired with large-aperture foreground blur to render the atmosphere opulent yet grounded. We also custom-commissioned the ice-blue polearm spear and semi-transparent blue talisman props. The material weight and build of the props were substantial; holding the polearm single-handedly for action poses required real effort, particularly when aligning perspective lines between the weapon and character.

Among the finished shots, I personally love the composition where I sit on the wooden daybed with arms slightly spread and legs crossed (which serves as the cover photo). That pose displays the character's serene, proud demeanor while leveraging lens perspective to highlight the fitted leather trousers and waist design. For makeup, pinkish eyeshadow blending paired with flicked eyeliner and a clean, sharp chin-length silver wig gave the character a stern, majestic aura.

Reviewing this set after some time brings back those shooting details vividly—repeatedly communicating positioning with the photographer, tweaking prop angles, and retaking shots for a specific beam of light are all essential parts of Cosplay photography creation. Recreating a beloved character each time is a way of expressing passion within one's capabilities. I hope these final images convey the character's original allure and serene detachment, while allowing viewers to appreciate the meticulous effort invested in costume, makeup, and props. The process was demanding, but seeing the final photos made every effort feel completely worthwhile.
