Today at the convention, I wore Formidable's maid outfit from Azur Lane. This outfit indeed has a lot of details; from the moment I got my hands on it, I could feel that the layered materials are extremely solid. The headpiece is a combination of black and white lace and cross elements, complete with dangling black tulle, which requires fixing the angle well when wearing it. The chest features a black bow embellished with a red heart, and the apron in front also has a red heart pattern, making the whole outfit exude an exquisite doll-like feeling. The most eye-catching part is those few layers of exaggerated white lace at the cuffs; when taking photos, the fluffiness of the sleeves needs to be specifically arranged, otherwise movements can easily look cramped.

A lot of thought was also put into the lower body's pairing, choosing white over-the-knee stockings matched with black high-heeled Mary Jane shoes. Black lace garter rings were specially added to the legs, echoing the overall black-and-white color scheme. The wig is a light golden blunt-bangs twin-tails with a little texture done, paired with red contact lenses and red-toned eyeshadow, and a lot of effort was put into the makeup. Because the original character's makeup is quite special, I heavily emphasized the red shading around the eyes, wanting to restore that slightly Gothic visual experience. The overall makeup needs to stay clean under camera flashes, so both the base makeup and setting were done quite heavily.

The shooting environment at the convention site was actually quite challenging. Most of the convention photos utilized the venue's top lighting or natural light filtering through glass curtain walls. Because the skirt hem of the maid outfit is quite large, a sitting posture or a standing pose lifting the skirt is best at showcasing the skirt's layering. When collaborating with photographer @San Daji, we tried many angles, such as high-angle shots from above to highlight big eyes and a cute feeling, or eye-level and side shots to display the skirt's fluffiness and leg lines. The venue was grey concrete ground, which instead set off the cleanliness and contrast of the black and white dress.

As an anime photography and cosplay enthusiast, when cosplaying a costume with this much lace and so many folds, prior ironing and on-site tidying are truly indispensable. Many photos look neat and smooth because between every shutter gap, I was frantically tidying up the lace on the skirt hem and cuffs. The pairing of white stockings and the black-and-white dress is visually very impactful, but lighting must be paid attention to, otherwise, it's easy to make the face look dull. Wearing this outfit actually comes with a certain sense of weight burden, especially the headpiece and the multi-layered skirt hem, but the feeling of satisfaction when the results turn out well is truly real.

During the shooting process, to capture natural movements, we tried various actions such as sitting on the ground, kneeling, crossing legs, and standing while lifting the skirt. When walking around the venue, extra care had to be taken to avoid the lace being stepped on or snagged. When sorting through the returned photos, I could see the real state of that day through light and shadow, and every convention photo is a record of the convention atmosphere. Bringing a favorite character into reality and realizing the character's details in one's own way is inherently a very fulfilling thing. I will continue to hone my makeup and styling skills, striving for an even better performance next time.
