The vibrant festive atmosphere of the Lantern Festival is perfectly suited for putting on this modified cheongsam infused with Lunar New Year vibes. This time, as Cheshire from Azur Lane, I immersed myself in an antique-style New Year scene shoot.

Let's talk about costume design details first: the halter top cut fits the silhouette closely, and paired with the red fabric patterned with gold, it carries the elegance of traditional cheongsam while retaining the airy lightness unique to anime characters. The white plush shawls on both shoulders are the soul of the look, not only enhancing visual layering but also highlighting upper body elegance visually. We specifically paired it with glossy white semi-sheer stockings and chunky white leather heels—this color combination looks exceptionally fresh on the red carpet, while the sheen of the stockings beautifully accentuates leg lines under the lighting. The headpiece is crafted delicately, with white ruffles and deep red tassels enhancing the character's sweetness.

In terms of makeup, to fit Cheshire's lively eye characteristics, green highlights were chosen for the eye makeup to echo the cyan inner streaks in her hair, preserving her original charm while making facial features look more three-dimensional. The hairstyle features layered trimming and air bangs, with hair strands showing great texture under the lens.

The scene setup for this shoot was full of New Year flavor. The photographer used many red elements, such as background red plum branches, a traditional brocade carpet on the floor, as well as golden sycees and big red square 'Fu' banners at hand. Props like the wooden table and pipa on set also enhanced the story depth of the frame. Regarding composition, a sitting pose like in picture one holding a gold sycee displays front clothing details, plush shawl volume, and leg lines completely—especially how the white thigh band accentuates white stockings visually; while holding the 'Fu' character with one hand like in picture two conveys a relaxed, cheerful festive vibe.

During actual shooting, softboxes were used to create even lighting that made the skin look luminous while allowing dark gold floral patterns on the fabric to reflect proper texture. In a studio setting, the photographer's lighting method to simulate natural daylight transparency is worth studying. For festive Anime cosplay themes like this, keeping expressions natural and poses relaxed is crucial; forced poses ruin the effortless beauty of the costume.

From styling to final shots, this shoot aimed to balance the character's original energetic vibe with the graceful traditional style of a cheongsam photoshoot. Wearing an outfit symbolic of prosperity during the Lantern Festival serves as a special memorial for this New Year. Wishing everyone a Happy Lantern Festival, and I hope this festive ensemble brings a warm color tone and fun atmosphere during the holiday.
