[Kochiya Sanae Cosplay] Touhou Project: The Wildness and Comfort of the Seaside Wind Priestess

Holding up that string of wooden bells in the raging beach wind, the ribbons and skirt in my hands were blown completely horizontal almost instantly. Completing this Kochiya Sanae Cosplay in a real seaside environment was truly a hardcore experience.
First, let's talk about the costume details—huge thanks to Paomian-laoshi for the meticulous sewing. The white base shirt is paired with intricate blue wave-pattern embroidery, and the flower-shaped rhinestone buckle on the chest is very eye-catching under the sun. The wide ruffled sleeves with blue and white tassels fluttered most joyfully in the sea breeze. For the makeup and styling, the blue-green colored contacts give the eyes a cool look. The green wig combined with the white plush ball hair accessories by the ears looks cute, yet the colors remain exceptionally vivid under the intense light.
The wind on the day of the shoot was truly beyond imagination. When holding the prop bells, they rang nonstop; the golden bells on the wooden ring and the colored streamers danced wildly in the wind. Capturing that flowing feel relied entirely on the photographer's blind shooting and my own stability. Stepping barefoot on the wet sand, waves of coldness from the seawater kept rushing in. Most of the time, a slight loss of balance meant the oncoming waves would drench the skirt, making it both grueling and messy.
But when the final photos came out, the impact of the real environment was something studio shoots could never replace. Aside from the photos holding the bells, the long white staff embroidered with a golden five-pointed star also carried great charm. To prevent the prop from being snapped by the gale, I often had to exert force in the opposite direction to hold down the wooden staff. In the half-body close-ups, the wig spread out across the sandy beach as the sunshine poured down, making me feel as if I were merging with nature. Although I could barely keep my eyes open due to the wind during the shoot, the final frozen frames captured a calm, distant gaze, which is exactly where the joy of Anime cosplay photography lies.
Thanks to Chacha TEA7125 for the lightning-fast output—shooting in the roaring wind one day and getting the final photos the next day is incredibly efficient. Although wearing the Wind Priestess outfit left me totally disheveled by the wind, it genuinely captured that agile spirit. This session was absolutely exhilarating.
