This Vodyanitsa cosplay styling took nearly a month of preparation, from the raw wig to the finished props. The character's original hair is a cool-toned dark green; to find the right shade, I purchased several wigs in different colors for comparison. With the one finally selected, I trimmed the blunt bangs and the wispy layers on both sides myself to ensure it properly framed my face. To keep the hair from looking dull before the camera, I also sprayed a layer of fine shimmer spray, which gives off a subtle starry glimmer under strong lighting.

The flower hair accessory on top of the head was a key focus of this look. The petals were crafted from polarized material, refracting a gradient color from pink-purple to light blue at different angles. The center of the flower features three-dimensional stamens made with golden UV resin. To keep the overall weight down, instead of using a traditional metal base, I sculpted it using shrink plastic and ultra-light clay before attaching it to the hairpin. This way, even wearing it all day doesn't feel too heavy on the head. For colored contacts, I chose highly pigmented ice-blue lenses, which, combined with red blending at the outer eye corners and prominent lower lashes, make the gaze look clearer and more captivating.

The most complex part of the costume is the large metal component on the chest. It consists of multiple layers: a silver-gray outer frame, a turquoise middle ring ornament, a hollowed-out cross structure in the center, and blue diamond-shaped gems inlaid above and below. To give it three-dimensionality and a metallic texture, I combined EVA foam with acrylic boards, sprayed the surface with silver and turquoise metallic paint, and sanded the edges smooth. When wearing it, transparent fishing line was used to secure it to the collar to prevent it from shifting during the shoot.

The shoot was carried out in a dark studio setting. For the first and third sets of photos, the background was darkened and hard front light was used to accentuate facial contours and highlights on the wig, while making the blue colored contacts stand out even more. For the second set, I switched to a warm yellow side light to create a slightly more intimate, quiet ambient atmosphere. Because the costume features white geometric patterns on the shoulders and arms, I intentionally adjusted my poses during shooting by resting a hand gently on the chest metal piece and leaning forward slightly, allowing the shoulder, neck, and collarbone lines to reveal naturally without making the composition stiff. Since the green hair easily blended into the dark background, a rim light was added from the rear-side to separate the figure from the backdrop.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the color coordination and prop texture of this styling, especially the presentation of the gradient flowers and metallic components under various lighting conditions. I also experimented with a slightly cooler makeup style this time, appearing quite aloof when serious and approachable when smiling. From patterning and fabric selection to the final shoot, a lot of effort was poured into this set, and I hope everyone enjoys this style.
