This time, the shoot features Yingning from GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE, a cyber-style character with red fox elements in her setting. The design beautifully blends traditional Chinese cheongsam tailoring with modern techwear straps, and the overall red, white, and black color scheme is highly eye-catching. To restore that agile and sharp feeling of "a red fox entering a dream," we specially chose a studio scene with a Chinese wooden structure, paired with an oil-paper umbrella, peach blossom branches, and warm-toned lanterns to create the atmosphere of night pavilions and towers. The orange-gold gradient of the wig and the mechanical fox ear accessories on top of the head are custom-made. One needs to pay attention to the angle when wearing them, otherwise it easily looks asymmetrical.

For the makeup, it mainly enhances the red blending around the eyes and decorates the under-eye area with fine shimmer to make the gaze look deeper and sharper. The straps of the costume are wrapped around the calves and arms; they need to outline the lines without hindering movement, so the tightness was constantly adjusted during the shooting process.

This set of photos experimented with various compositions, from sitting upright on a wooden chair to curling up on a blanket, as well as that final full-body shot standing on a misty wooden bridge. Dry ice was used to create a light smoke, combined with a backlit softbox, making the silhouette appear hazy yet three-dimensional. Special mention goes to that large red oil-paper umbrella, which is highly photogenic as a prop; holding it with one hand or carrying it behind the back can greatly enhance the character's aura. The photographer's lighting control was very delicate, and the transition between highlights and shadows fully manifested the texture and material of the costume, such as the reflection of the metal buckles on the white top and the black leather straps.

Every time I cosplay a character with a mix of mechanical and traditional elements, I spend a lot of thought pondering body language. Yingning's personality setting is a bit lazy and playful, so the movements shouldn't be too stiff; they need to naturally play with props or lean casually to make the character come alive. The whole process, from styling confirmation to set adjustment and the actual shoot, lasted about six hours. Although it was tiring, seeing the final photos in this Cosplay photography project is highly satisfying.
