The photos from this Evernight cosplay shoot have finally been sorted out. This time, I mainly wanted to challenge a dark vintage aesthetic, so the photographer deliberately chose a wooden room with a vintage large-format camera as the backdrop. The costume features extensive details: the outer black patent leather jacket was quite stiff and slightly restrictive to move in, while the inner white tulle and ruffled lace were also intricate. The red-and-black cross garter on the thigh was the finishing touch; to complement the overall style, I specifically paired it with white platform shoes and cross-patterned lace socks.

During the shoot, to make the low-angle upward perspective in Photo 1 look naturally leg-lengthening, the photographer and I tried numerous angles back and forth. Balancing my center of gravity while holding the book steady felt like doing 30 minutes of squat workouts! Photo 2 used a long black umbrella as a prop, originally intended to create a mysterious and commanding presence, but the umbrella was quite heavy, leaving my shoulder very sore after holding it single-handedly. We also took dozens of shots of the billowing skirt before selecting the most natural one. For Photo 3, I switched into a dark long coat and leaned against the doorframe; paired with the dark background foliage and the dim, warm yellow pendant lighting, the composition felt very relaxed.

For the makeup, to match Evernight's aura, I used cool-toned pink eyeshadow, and the wig was trimmed with proper layers. Dark-toned lighting is very demanding on skin texture; in post-processing, we had to preserve the rich color details of the vintage woodwork while preventing the white clothing from blowing out. I really loved the combination of props and set design this time, successfully presenting an elegant yet cool 2D visual effect. After every shoot, it feels like having a deep dialogue with the character. Next time, I'll experiment with different lighting setups to create even bolder, sharper cosplay photos.
