For the Shanghai LPL Finals on September 12–13, I prepared this Jinx cosplay look from League of Legends: Arcane.
Styling the wig began days in advance: the vibrant blue twin braids needed that characteristically messy, layered texture—the tips couldn't be too tidy, requiring a slightly frayed, raw finish. To capture her essence, I sprayed plenty of setting mist to preserve volume without making the fibers appear stiff. For makeup, the focus fell heavily on the eyes: deep crimson shading grounded the base with deepened outer contours, complementing her signature red contact lenses. To make her manic grin instantly recognizable, I added custom canine teeth props; testing them in the mirror just now, the contrast with the blue hair and crimson eyeshadow delivered intense visual punch.
Wardrobe-wise, I crafted a dark brown cropped halter top featuring stitched crossbone appliques across the chest. The tailored cut fits snugly to cleanly highlight the waistline and midriff, which I prepped for with targeted fitness training. Down below, it pairs with wine-red cropped pants striped in gold, finished with jagged raw hems and cinched by a dark brown leather belt with heavy metallic buckles. This ensemble preserves her raw street edge while offering full freedom of movement across the event halls. Footwear comprises deep-toned lace-up high-top boots adorned with metallic accents and buckles, brimming with combat-ready grit.
The heaviest workload went into the shoulder-mounted prop. To survive hall roaming, I built this massive Fishbones rocket launcher lightweight, though achieving the weathered metallic lacquer and distressed textures took immense care. The silver-gray nose received multi-layered dry-brushing to simulate battle scuffs, while the dark green body was accented by hand-applied perforations and rivets. Testing mirror selfies today—shouldering the prop in one hand and snapping with the other—it felt slightly hefty, but the overall silhouette tension was incredibly satisfying. To ensure endurance during long convention shoots, I widened the shoulder strap's contact pad to minimize fatigue.
Attending the LPL Finals this time also coincides with the 15th anniversary of League of Legends. As both a gamer and cosplayer, watching the matches live and soaking in the electric arena atmosphere is pure joy. Bumping into fellow fans across the convention and arena halls to snap photos or share a quick chat is always heartwarming. I will be wandering the venue over both days to fully showcase this Arcane look. If you spot me, feel free to say hello—I'd love to chat about the crafting and styling process behind this build!
