This photoshoot at Chongqing OIOI was a high-efficiency speed session aiming for quick turnarounds, mainly intended to scout the venue and snap a few shots that work well indoors. Since the outdoor plan was canceled, I focused entirely on finding suitable indoor corners to leverage the indoor lighting and setups.
The photos showcase a variety of outfit styles tailored to common mutual collaboration needs. Costumes and hairstyles from IPs like FGO, Naraka, Arknights, Azur Lane, Blue Archive, and Nikke fit this indoor studio and convention photoshoot aesthetic well. However, when it comes to male characters, I lack confidence in my portrayal and poses, which often end up looking stiff. To avoid wasting time, I prefer to clarify this upfront so both parties feel comfortable during the shoot.
The selected images balance composition and texture. The featured shot incorporates a folding screen and vintage chair setup, paired with a red-and-blue modified cheongsam and sheer black stocking outfit. Holding a folding fan in a natural seated pose under side lighting, set against the hall's overhead lights and open backdrop, the framing cleanly highlights the costume's cut, texture, and pose.
Subsequent outfits emphasize different visual elements. A light-toned gown with flowing ribbons, paired with a blue-gray wig and headpiece, was shot with a wide-angle lens close up to stretch the skirt's dynamic flare—a bold composition that easily draws eyes at conventions. Another look featured white hair and elf ears paired with a lightweight white cheongsam and high-heeled tall socks, complemented by minimal Chinese potted plants and palace lanterns for a cool, elegant vibe. A Xianxia-inspired combat setup utilized artificial grass and wooden medicine boxes with white gauze and pink hair to capture a dynamic sense of action.
We made good use of the venue's hardware, like large floor-to-ceiling windows letting in natural light and ceiling array lights that create clean shadows. Pursuing quick turnarounds required strict light control and post-processing quality, which is why I emphasize quality standards to ensure aligned expectations with future collaborating photographers.
Chongqing offers many versatile indoor setups. Whether ancient style, daily wear, or fantasy themes, smooth communication between model and photographer yields high efficiency. I hope to connect with like-minded creators to explore more character concepts through mutual collaboration photo delivery.
