Checking in from our booth at Comicup! I spent the entire day at booth 5-C12, where it was super busy with crowds constantly coming and going. I managed to seize a rare spare moment to snap a selfie, which is the photo you see right now.
The styling for this shoot leaned toward the ornate side, and a lot of care went into putting it together. First was the wig: long, straight Silver hair. Getting it into the asymmetrical braided style shown in the picture took quite a bit of effort to set right at the booth. Paired with reddish-brown contact lenses, it gave my eyes a deeper, more dimensional look. The red pupils stood out vibrantly under the cool-white overhead hall lights, which was definitely my favorite part of today's makeup. I applied a slightly thicker base and paid extra attention to setting the makeup—with the massive foot traffic and warm temperatures inside the Anime convention hall, slipping up even a little could lead to oil and sweat breaking down the makeup. For eye makeup, I intentionally used generous red blending and subtle shimmer paired with long eyelashes to enlarge the eyes, giving the gaze a sharper look that created a striking contrast with the Silver hair.
Next came the costume. This outfit is richly layered: the collar combines a crisp white shirt structure accented with a yellow gem brooch in the middle and a pleated red-black-white bow tie on the chest. The color palette is very bold, weaving together orange, black, white, and red. Since I had to sit at the booth, wearing this kind of outfit for hours wasn't entirely comfortable—especially with the high collar and the somewhat heavy coat fabric, walking around the hall felt quite stuffy and warm. Nonetheless, I was very pleased with the garment's texture; the black shoulder leather straps and metal buckles looked great under the lights, adding to the solemn, sharp aura. The red pleated bow tie needed to stay smooth, so I frequently adjusted it by hand.
I brought along a small plush doll—the one I'm holding in my hands, still in its plastic packaging. This little plushie matches my main cosplay styling with its silver-white hair and slightly pouting expression. Holding it as a prop added a fun interactive touch to the photo, and the reflection on the plastic bag framed the doll's face nicely.
After all, blending in as booth staff meant the background shows cardboard boxes, tablecloths, and displayed items from neighboring booths, looking a bit cluttered. But this bustling energy is the true, authentic portrait of an Anime convention. Behind the booth, besides greeting visiting players, I constantly had to check whether my makeup was holding up. The wig tangled easily and wearing colored contacts for long periods dried out my eyes, so I kept facial mist and eye drops ready to refresh my state anytime. Since today's coat was thick, I also carried a mini handheld fan in my bag to cool off, snapping this photo right in the brief gap after sorting out props.
Because today's schedule was packed, I didn't have much time to browse other booths, only managing to take a quick commemorative photo next to our booth during a lull. Although running around the hall was exhausting, leaving my feet sore by the end of the day amidst the stuffy heat of the costume, looking at the look I carefully prepared and holding that cute little doll made it all feel worthwhile. Meeting so many fellow fans on-site—helping each other watch luggage and passing water despite not knowing one another beforehand—created a heartwarming, friendly atmosphere. Offline gatherings with like-minded creators always bring genuine vitality and reassure me that all the prior preparations were well worth the effort. Every cosplay is a personal challenge: whether refining makeup or mastering costume details, there's always so much to learn.
That wraps up today's booth log! Even though the surroundings were busy, the photo captured the fine details of today's look wonderfully. The combination of Silver hair, red eyes, and braided hair drew plenty of compliments on-site, with many passersby pausing for a look, which felt like great validation. Sitting in front of the booth, I felt like a presenter showcasing creative work while fully participating in the convention spirit.
