Although the convention ended several days ago, I still couldn't help digging out this set of Bilibili World convention photos to look at repeatedly.
This time I chose this black techwear outfit mainly to have a strong visual impact against the complex background of the exhibition hall. The outer piece is a short glossy leather jacket with loose lantern sleeves. For the inner layer, I specifically picked a black lace-paneled tube top, and the pink little cat-face pattern on the chest is the visual center of the entire upper body. To echo the cat face, I wore black plush cat ears on my head, decorated with some silver chains. The lower body is a leather mini skirt, and the waist is covered with various metal chains and pink gemstone charms, making a jingle sound when walking. Tied to my thigh is a black plush cat-paw bag, connected with metal chains and a pom-pom. Twin-tail hair extensions increased the hair volume, the eye makeup chose a reddish-brown eyeshadow matched with pink contact lenses, and the lipstick chose a moisturizing red series, ensuring the overall makeup doesn't look too light under the strong light of the exhibition.
Arriving at the scene, I was truly surrounded by a circle of photographers. Many photographers used Nikon equipment this time, and the Nikon straight out of camera colors and texture are indeed amazing. The lighting on-site changed a lot, especially at the yellow arched booth, where the lighting tested the costume material. The glossy leather jacket reflects light under flashes, so I constantly adjusted my posture to let the light fall on the details of the chest and legs. The pose in figure 1, supporting weight on one leg, was actually to better showcase the leg straps and boots. Figure 2 aimed to capture a stretching action, making the twin tails and sleeves look more dynamic. Figure 3 shows the side profile to display the waistline and chains.
Visiting Bilibili World is truly physical work. This outfit looks cool, but it's actually very stuffy and hot to wear, especially the leather material, coupled with the waist chains, leaving me sore all over after a whole day. However, being able to meet many fellow enthusiasts who understand styling on-site, as well as photographers willing to patiently find angles, made it all feel completely worth it. In Figure 4, standing among a group of photographers, I was actually a little nervous, but seeing the final photos, I felt the entire frame had a great ambient feel. Although this outfit has many elements, the black main tone suppressed the overall rhythm, coupled with a little bit of pink and blue ribbon embellishment, creating strong visual layering. For occasions like conventions, dressing a bit boldly is the only way to have fun.
