I finally got to shoot Yuyuko, whom I've been longing for, at this convention, and I'm really happy to receive these convention photos from the independent photographer. A lot of thought went into the details of the entire costume; the blue and white dress with cascading ruffles, along with the red wagashi decoration on the hat, tries its best to replicate the character's gorgeous yet lightweight feel. The pink wig was styled to be fluffy, and paired with a pearl necklace and a teardrop pendant, it looks visually closer to that elegant ghost princess in Gensokyo. The lighting at the venue was relatively soft during the shoot, and the photographer captured very natural gazes and gestures. The pose in the photo, where I'm slightly turning sideways and lifting my hand to pull the shawl closer, just perfectly showcases the layers of the costume and the off-the-shoulder design, while the veil worn adds a hazy sense of atmosphere. Since it was a casual shoot at the convention, the venue environment was a bit messy, but the solid-color background made the character theme stand out even more. While organizing this set of photos, I reviewed the combination of makeup and props again, especially the decorations on the hat and the patterns on the skirt hem. For now, I'm quite satisfied with the replication level. As a cosplay enthusiast, every time I dress up as a character, it's a reinterpretation of them. This cosplay photography session was made even more special by meeting a photography master who can capture light and shadow so well this time.
