Setting the early morning alarm at 4:30 AM for two consecutive days, finishing washing up means an unshakeable base makeup time before 5:00 AM. For today's light ice-blue gradient wig, I spent time yesterday in the hotel using a curling iron and setting spray to re-adjust the layers of the bangs and sides, making it look airy without looking fake under the exhibition hall's strong lights. To match this wig, I chose the lightest foundation shade, and intentionally used subtle red and light brown for eye makeup blending, combined with upper eyelashes, so that under reflecting lights in the venue, the outer eye corners have a delicate, dreamy blur. Fixing the veil was meticulous work; to prevent rhinestone chains on hair ornaments from tangling in the veil while walking, I spent a solid half-hour doing final tweaks before heading out.
Arriving at the event venue, I found this light blue-gray look suited the white arches and bright lighting inside the exhibition hall exceptionally well, making me look very translucent in photos. The neckline of this outfit features extensive lace and ruffle layering, along with delicate string ties across the chest, paired with layered chiffon sleeves—truly breathable and dreamlike. I must admit, waking up after 4 AM two days in a row is a major physical test. On the second morning, I didn't even have an appetite for breakfast, relying entirely on an iced Americano to hold up my spirits. Although the convention was lively, long periods of standing combined with frequent autographs, photos, and adjusting wig/outfit states left my calves feeling quite sore by the afternoon. During a brief gap, I tried finding a corner to sit back down on a chair, sipping warm water to recharge while crowds thinned out, and fixing my veil which had gotten slightly crooked in the crowd.
Many asked why I persevered to wear this look at the convention. The core motivation was wanting to personally participate in Wuthering Waves Fes for this important 2nd Anniversary Celebration offline. The on-site atmosphere was amazing; though everyone was exhausted, the warmth of meeting each other and mutual compliments always quickly dispelled fatigue. Today I met many photographers with cameras who continuously gave feedback during shooting, telling me how facial lighting and shadows looked in-lens and helping adjust angles—this professional interaction made getting up early completely worth it. Even if every tiny detail couldn't be recreated with absolute precision, presenting a complete visual state on the second day of the event was a small victory for myself.
Of course, beyond external makeup and styling, wearing clothes with chiffon and lace elements requires extra care when moving around. The venue was crowded and packed, so I had to constantly ensure my veil wasn't snagged by someone's backpack straps, while trying my best to avoid rhinestone chains clashing with props and making noise. Moreover, large areas of light chiffon fabric are prone to static or snagging; walking around the convention all day meant spending plenty of time maintaining and ironing them after returning home. Yet all these hassles turned into a unique and happy burden upon seeing blossoming smiles in front of the lens and the marveling gazes of everyone at the venue.
Although my body flashed a red fatigue light on the second day, my spirit maintained high focus. I feel this intense sense of participation is precisely the charm of offline events. Maybe I'll sleep for over a dozen hours right after getting home, but at this moment I still want to stay a bit longer in this place full of passion, feeling the resonance belonging to characters, the franchise, and every early-rising attendee. For me, every convention is a journey of re-discovering the work and myself, and spending the 2nd Anniversary Celebration this way is truly special.
