The blue-and-white palette of the outfit displayed excellent dimension under natural sunlight, but to prevent highlights on the white fabric from clipping, we had to carefully balance tree shade and ambient light. Without stockings, the composition deliberately utilized the placement of the skirt armor and tall boots to elongate leg lines. The weapon had considerable weight; during several poses, my knees, waist, and core had to stay locked tight to maintain balance, especially in the semi-reclining shot.
Touching on the photo details: the shot leaning sideways against the stone bridge railing used the railing's perspective as a leading line, which nicely flattered the shape of the legs. The semi-reclining pose by the water was the most satisfying composition of this set—resting against the rock with arms naturally extending upward, looking relaxed under the dappled forest sunlight while accentuating the lines of the torso, with the subject grounded securely in the center of the frame. The shot in front of the waterfall used a frontal standing stance, hoisting the weapon high to create strong visual impact alongside the rushing water.
Regarding discussions that Chen suits the Integration of person and scenery, we truly dedicated effort in this direction. The cool tones of the green foliage formed a harmonious blend with the blue-and-white attire, and I intentionally let some foreground leaves frame the shot to create natural flare and refraction. In post-processing, highlights were dialed back slightly to keep water reflections crisp and luminous, further reinforcing the character's immersion into her surroundings.
The shoot was quite physically demanding; the wig tended to catch on tree branches, so I had to watch my positioning constantly. Moving across slick stones in tall boots was tricky, requiring ongoing caution. For every pose, the photographer called cues, requiring me to freeze instantly and catch my breath to adjust between shots. Outdoor lighting shifts rapidly, particularly in the afternoon when sunlight through the leaves moves fast—the position of light spots changes in mere seconds, demanding crisp, decisive poses.
Examining the costume details and textures: the craftsmanship is very refined—the metallic sheen of the weapon, stitching on the skirt armor, and strapping across the legs created a contrast of delicacy against the rough stone surfaces of this Outdoor location. Maintaining graceful poses quickly drained my core strength, requiring several rests mid-shoot to keep body silhouettes sharp.
Especially for the waterside photo, a slightly low-angle perspective combined with naturally resting arms accentuated the S-curve of the body, which is why it was chosen as the cover. Coming across such pristine lighting during an outdoor shoot was truly fortunate.
The true crux of this photo set was light—not relying on heavy digital effects, but capturing organic ambient light by continually adjusting positions. This is precisely the greatest allure of an Outdoor location shoot. The overall cool color grading kept the visuals clean, complementing the character's aloof, capable aura. Before the lens, I used expressions and gestures to resonate with the surrounding architecture and greenery, striving to bring the character authentically to life.
