After spending several full days traversing ChinaJoy 2026, the first wave of Convention photos is finally here. I prepared five distinct styles this time, each offering a unique shooting experience on the expo floor.
The first was a black-and-red combat suit; the leather texture looked striking under the bright booth lights. The silver-white wig needed substantial prior styling, and securing the red horn accessories required plenty of bobby pins. Holding the ultrawide sign prop with matching black-and-red gloves, the shutter clicks around me barely paused. The crop-top waistline was demanding on core stability, leaving my abs and lower back sore after posing continuously for half an hour.
For the second look, a blue dress was paired with a blonde wig featuring softly curled ends and a large bow, leaning into an elegant aesthetic. The skirt had elaborate layers, though the black lace trim proved slightly tricky to navigate while walking. The most exhausting part was the thin black stilettos—stepping into them completely altered my center of gravity. Posing on a high barstool required holding constant leg tension and repeatedly adjusting the angle of crossed knees to capture a natural, relaxed curve.
In the afternoon, I switched into a classic blue-and-white maid outfit. Originally a fresh and sweet look, I layered it with tactical gear. Adding a camo vest, headset, and props instantly shifted the vibe into a hardcore tactical maid style. Fastening these tactical accessories took considerable time, testing multiple placements for the walkie-talkie and blades. The ensemble felt quite heavy, requiring firm arm control when handling props, but the visual contrast turned out exceptionally photogenic.
The bunny girl outfit was by far the most physically demanding. Twintails paired with black-and-red bunny ears, along with a form-fitting bodysuit, demanded maintaining an upright, poised posture throughout. Standing in Black stockings and stiletto heels for the entire afternoon left my feet genuinely aching. The booth lighting was intensely bright; with reflectors bounced onto my face, the skin texture translated beautifully. Posing required balancing cuteness with subtle allure, relying on the photographer's constant cues for hand placement and facial expressions to nail the perfect frame.
The final pink fairy look embraced a dreamy aesthetic. The silver glossy fabric reflected light brilliantly on camera. The elf ears and butterfly hairpins required precise adhesive application. For this set, the backdrop was decorated with ice-crystal props; to preserve visual depth, I positioned myself forward, listening to the photographer's direction to tuck my chin and catch light on the eye glitter.
Over the course of the expo, lighting varied drastically across booths, requiring constant running between halls to chase ideal light. Costume changes and makeup touch-ups ran on tight schedules, often turning meals into hurried bites. Yet seeing the raw composition and garment details in camera made every drop of sweat worthwhile.
