[Cheshire Cosplay] The Cat-like Girl in Azur Lane, Full of Energy Today Too - Image 1

This time I cosplayed Cheshire from Azur Lane, also commonly known as the Cheshire Cat. From the wig to the costume, every single detail recreates the setting in the game as much as possible. The black mesh mini top hat on my head is paired with gray-blue gradient short hair, and that touch of mint green at the hair ends is considered Cheshire's signature feature. The collar section uses metallic gold line decorations, combined with a black velvet neck ornament, bringing out a Gothic refinement without looking too heavy.

The gloves feature a black satin and lace patchwork design with cutout details on the fingers, making hand movements look more flexible and natural when shooting close-ups. The main body of the dress is made of deep blue satin material, and the cut and hanging ornaments on the chest also referenced the details of the original official art. Actually, for this costume, I specially visited several fabric markets; the luster and drape of the satin indeed look much better under the lens than ordinary fabrics, and tulle patchwork was added to the shoulders to introduce a bit of breathability and showcase a delicate Japanese fashion style.

In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on the coordination of eyeshadow and blush, using a pink-orange blend to emphasize the character's lively yet slightly lazy temperament, with the eyeliner slightly elongated to make the gaze look a bit more agile. A lot of time was spent on styling the wig; the length and curve of the bangs were repeatedly adjusted several times before finally achieving this effect that covers the forehead without blocking the view.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was quite complex, but this slightly dark environment actually fit Cheshire's sense of mystery better. Post-processing only involved basic skin tone correction and background blur, preserving some texture from the raw photo. For players who love Azur Lane, Cheshire's personality actually has a wonderful gap moe; she looks aloof on the outside, but is actually extremely clingy when spending time together. Therefore, during the shoot, I specifically chose some lazy and playful poses, such as pulling the gloves and tilting my head, hoping to convey the character's personality traits through the photos for this session of Anime-style photography.

For me, cosplay is not just about replicating the external appearance, but a process of understanding the character's inner self; every time I put on the costume, there's a wondrous sense of immersion. The shooting process went very smoothly this time. Although the preparation time was quite long, seeing the final photo results made me feel that everything was completely worth it.
