Today on-site at ChinaJoy 2026, I showcased several distinct cosplay looks from morning till evening. The foot traffic was even more overwhelming than anticipated, and the booth lighting was immensely complex—predominantly harsh top-down downlights or chaotic colored spotlights—compounded by cluttered backdrops across multiple zones, adding considerable challenge to the shoot. The first morning look was a soft pink gown; to channel that whimsical fantasy ambiance, I specially wore elf ear props for an Elf style presentation, intensifying blush diffusion and dimensional eye makeup layers. The bodice corset was cinched tight, which, paired with long white gloves and pearl necklaces, granted a lavishly ornate aura. When posing on-site, the glove material was silky and slippery, demanding extra caution when holding props. Because the booth top-lights were intense, I constantly coordinated positions with the photographer to ensure even facial illumination, steering clear of messy background crowds while utilizing wide-aperture depth of field to make the subject pop.
At midday, I switched into a blue-and-white gossamer tulle dress. The fabric was airy, light, and breathable, keeping me from sweating profusely and preventing makeup meltdowns while walking the venue. The silver arm wraps and blue butterfly wrist accessories required painstaking attachment, as broader gestures or accidental bumps from passersby could easily dislodge them. The afternoon focused on a cyber-techwear aesthetic: the silver-white high ponytail wig required substantial styling spray to sculpt, with multi-toned highlights putting wig-styling techniques to the test. Posing seated in a gaming chair made leg placement vital; wearing this techwear accompanied by black leather pants noticeably restricted mobility. Later, I also experimented with an angelic look featuring white wings and a halo. While seated on stairs, the tiered ruffles of the skirt tended to bunch up, requiring constant standing to reset the hemline. This white look was coordinated with White stockings and transparent high heels; standing for hours made the soles of my feet deeply ache, and the stiff material of transparent shoes made balancing while walking tricky.
Throughout the day, I connected with many talented peers cosplaying other characters, exchanging lighting tips and prop preservation techniques in the break lounge. In between touring booths and shooting, I visited hardware exhibitors and took a controller for a spin. After wrapping the final outfit, packing away all the wigs, elf ears, halos, and props, my pedometer easily surpassed twenty thousand steps. The convention center concrete was punishingly hard underfoot; walking all day in high heels was a strenuous trial of stamina and foot endurance, and my calves certainly need a thorough massage back home. Although exhausted, reviewing the diverse styles captured in the camera previews made all the prep work and on-site communication completely worthwhile.
