[Lumine cosplay] Genshin Impact Banquet Scene: Elegance Between the Black Backdrop and Framed Red Roses

This shoot featured a black backdrop, oversized golden frames, and red paper flowers as the main set to evoke a dramatic banquet atmosphere. The highlight of this Banquet Lumine look lies in its asymmetrical cut and exquisite fabrics. The strapless bodice paired with long gloves accentuates the neck and shoulder lines, while the high-low skirt—short in front and floor-length at the sides—creates an elegant visual extension of the legs. Wearing silver glitter stiletto heels demanded substantial stability while standing, requiring extra care when posing, though I gradually adapted throughout the session.

The set layout was carefully arranged; rather than placing the frames conventionally, they were tilted and overlapped against the black backdrop to create a striking focal point. During the shoot, we focused on interacting with the surroundings—such as sitting sideways on the frame's edge with one leg raised or leaning against a corner to accentuate the drape. With embellishments of pearls, chains, and flowers, the outfit was quite elaborate, requiring constant adjustments to the dress folds to maintain a clean aesthetic. In the second photo, I adopted a formal standing pose with the roses and frames to convey Lumine's dignified yet slightly aloof banquet persona.

Preparation took considerable time, from styling the wig and ironing the garments to positioning every accessory. While putting on the crown, I used both bobby pins and thin cords to secure it firmly without disturbing the hair. Under the cool-toned studio lighting, the red paper flowers stood out vividly, while the golden frames reflected a delicate luster.

For the sideways sitting pose in the first shot, my legs had to appear relaxed while remaining engaged to balance and trace an elegant curve. For me, the most challenging aspect of portraying Lumine is conveying her blend of innocence and worldly experience through the eyes. I consciously controlled my gaze toward the lens to project a serene, profound expression, carrying this approach over to the upright pose in the second shot with a slight head tilt and hands placed in front.

Despite the dress's airy look, the petticoat and back bow carried notable weight, making short breaks necessary between sets. Still, seeing the final lighting made the effort entirely worthwhile. In post-processing, we preserved skin texture without excessive smoothing to highlight fine glitter and highlights in the makeup, keeping facial and costume details crisp. Bringing a beloved character to life through Anime-style photography and sharing that joy with fellow fans is deeply fulfilling.
