This Rozen Maiden group photos and photo collecting session has finally been successfully completed. Actually, before going to the studio, my state of mind was very poor. Due to some trivial matters in the real world, I was trapped in severe self-doubt and almost wanted to bail out. But once I actually arrived at the scene and saw everyone seriously preparing to restore their characters, that atmosphere instantly put my mind at ease.
This time I portrayed Hinaichigo. This pink Lolita dress looks sweet, but wearing it really requires patience. The layers of ruffles, the lace at the neckline, and the huge red bow in front of the chest all need to be adjusted bit by bit to present the best three-dimensional sense in front of the lens. I also trimmed and styled the wig in advance, pairing the golden blunt bangs with slightly curled hair ends, and deliberately choosing bright green contact lenses. In terms of anime makeup and styling, I heavily emphasized the layering of the under-eye blush and eyelashes, hoping to get closer to that innocent and lively anime texture.
At the shooting site, the older sisters took special care of me. The few of us gathered together in front of the set, chatting while checking our poses. The studio was decorated with a dark blue backdrop and a red rose flower wall. When we huddled together in front of the lens, I found the contrast between the pink and dark backgrounds to be very strong, and the photo output effect was pleasantly surprising. Everyone helped each other tidy up skirt hems and handed props, and the atmosphere was extremely harmonious. Although I occasionally get nervous facing the lens and don't know how to pose, the older sisters always gave very natural and professional advice. This time we took many group photos, including side-by-side standing and front-and-back staggered compositions. Because the color tones of the outfits differed, such as dark blue and pink, we put some thought into positioning to balance the picture, trying to ensure everyone's styling was fully displayed.
During the shooting breaks, we sat together to rest and chatted a lot about costume making and anime makeup and styling details. Watching everyone obsess over the details of their respective characters, I suddenly felt that meeting like-minded people in this community is truly a very lucky thing. Those self-doubt emotions gradually dissipated amidst the sound of the shutter and everyone's laughter. Before going, I was worried I wouldn't fit in, but on-site, everyone was not only extra enthusiastic, but also kept praising my anime makeup and styling, giving me tremendous emotional value.
Although the whole shooting process was a bit tiring—wearing a cumbersome Lolita dress and standing in high heels for several hours—seeing the photos played back in the camera made all the hard work worth it. Everyone's gaze and state in the final photos are great, and the lighting is very translucent, capturing the texture of the costumes. Thank you very much for this opportunity to join everyone for group photos and photo collecting, which helped me adjust my mental state. In the future, I will continue to take every cosplay seriously, constantly improve my anime makeup and styling and lens expression, and look forward to shooting more satisfying works with everyone next time.
