[Remilia cosplay] Touhou Project: The Charisma Guard and Majestic Aura

When shooting this Remilia cosplay, managing the silhouette of the skirt in a crouching pose was undoubtedly the greatest challenge.

The pink tulle dress has countless layers; standing upright, the draping didn't quite capture the legendary Vampire mistress, but crouching caused the fabric to press flat against the floor, losing that voluminous Lolita elegance.
To recreate that rounded silhouette reminiscent of a giant pink mushroom, we added three layers of petticoats beneath the dress; the outermost tulle required continuous angular adjustments to achieve those soft, airy gathers.

The red ribbons and massive red bow had to be tied exceptionally tight so they wouldn't sag even while crouching.
The red bat wings on my back were crafted from black-and-red fabric reinforced with rigid support stays; once anchored, they maintained solid three-dimensional structure even in a low crouch.
For this look, the wig was chosen in light blue, creating a vivid contrast with the pink dress; although the long bangs veiled the eyes, it fit the lore of someone reluctant to show her face casually.

Shooting was physically exhausting, requiring continuous core stability without swaying to prevent the wings behind from tilting.
Studio lighting was intense, and the pink fabric reflected light easily, requiring prolonged light repositioning to ensure rich saturation while preserving translucent textures.
Although this stance is playfully dubbed the Charisma guard, we strove to project the majestic, haughty aura of the mistress through the garment.

Every pose aligned with this lore: hands lightly resting on the hat's edge looked like shielding from the outside gaze as well as adopting a defensive posture—a subtle nuance fitting her character.
The dress craftsmanship was exquisite, with rich textures in the chest ribbons and lace embroidery, yet grooming was tricky since slight creasing disrupted the aesthetic.
This crouching pose tested both physical endurance and garment structure.

Many accessories were custom-made, such as the oversized mob cap; wearing it for hours strained my neck, but the faithful recreation made it worthwhile.
During breaks, I rested on a nearby chair while remaining alert to avoid wrinkling the skirt.
Though appearing adorable and sweet, the shooting process was demanding physical work—adjusting skirt flares, watching lighting, and calibrating poses.

Reviewing the raw shots afterward, both the impending cuteness and regal majesty were successfully captured.
This project serves as a tribute to the Touhou Project series, where Scarlet Devil Mansion characters remain iconic.
Though not naturally adept at exaggerated cute expressions, I strived to stay as true to the character design as possible.

Several minor hiccups occurred—like wings catching on the skirt or feet going numb from crouching—yet we wrapped smoothly.
Despite the pink palette, the atmosphere holds rich visual weight rather than plain sweetness, offering striking chromatic contrast.
For color fidelity, a low-saturation pink paired with deep red ribbons delivered the classic texture of vintage dresses.

Close-up details like headwear and embroidery were highlighted by fine-tuning pose angles.
The clean white backdrop emphasized the garment's colors and textures, where the pink tone against blue hair created great visual impact.
The Charisma guard pose primarily highlighted character duality—seeing an arrogant mistress take a defensive stance creates an entertaining contrast.
I am thrilled with this shoot and feel my control over garment silhouette and posing expression has grown substantially.
