[Eyjafjalla the Hvít Aska cosplay] Picnic Before the Journey and Mirror Selfie

The theme for this Eyjafjalla the Hvít Aska cosplay was a Picnic before the journey. To capture the character's soft, gentle, and quiet aura, I specifically chose this blue-and-white color-blocked Lolita dress. The outer layer features delicate white lace with small blue satin ribbons at the neckline, cinched at the waist with a dark blue wide sash to accentuate the silhouette, complemented by an eye-catching large blue bow, white plush ear accessories, and black feather accents on top. Paired with a brown wig, the makeup avoided heavy colors, emphasizing a clean, fresh texture instead. Because the theme was a Picnic, a plush lamb doll was used as a prop to partially cover my face, creating an immersive character feel for the overall shot.

The shoot mainly consisted of a Mirror selfie setup, which made it easier to check whether the skirt hem was neat and if the hairstyle was in place. Since the face was obscured, character emotions were conveyed through body posture and prop handling—such as resting fingertips gently on the plushie and angling sideways to showcase the dress's silhouette. Finding the right lighting took quite a while during shooting, but utilizing the soft natural light filtering through the window in the afternoon brought out the fine texture of the outfit. Although the background was a bit cluttered, I added some doodle edits to keep the visual focus anchored on the character styling. The costume has abundant details and took considerable time to coordinate, especially adjusting the bow's placement so it looked three-dimensional without flattening the hair. Slipping into this outfit, I felt the urge to embody the little lamb's quiet, slightly dazed demeanor, keeping all movements gentle and restrained. This shoot gave me a deeper feel for the character's presence in a Picnic setting, and I look forward to taking even better photos next time.
