The plan to shoot this White studio Pajamas set had been brewing in my mind for a long time, especially regarding the styling detail of the White tights with bow, which I felt was well worth setting up a dedicated shoot to document properly. The outfit combination itself is not complex; the real challenge lay in capturing the character's spirit and that domestic, aloof stillness from Yosuga no Sora. First was the choice of clothing: for the white slip Pajamas, a lightweight fabric with natural ruching around the neckline was essential to create visual depth. The texture of the thigh-high socks was equally crucial—the sheer translucency had to be just right, neither too opaque nor too sheer. Most important of all was the black bow along the sock rim; I intentionally chose an angle and pose that fully showcased the bow this time, as that detail was missed in my previous shoot and couldn't be skipped again.
The DIY White studio set up at home was fairly simple without professional lighting gear, relying entirely on natural light filtering through the window paired with reflectors for fill light. Because both the outfit and background were white, it was very easy to overexpose the entire scene, placing high demands on lighting control to preserve fabric textures and body contours. With slightly harder light, the shadows became pronounced, nicely complementing the overall cool color tone. During the shoot, I tried several poses: Image 1 has my legs curled up hugging the plush bunny, appearing quiet and introverted; Image 2 is a kneeling pose resting my chin on one hand, which beautifully highlights shoulder and collarbone lines alongside an innocent gaze to convey the dainty charm I aimed for; Image 3 is a side-sitting pose with great leg extension, but Image 2 offered the most ideal presentation of leg and chest lines, making it my pick for the cover.
To do this shoot justice for this Kasugano Sora cosplay, I also put much thought into the wig and colored contacts: the blonde twin-tails tied with black ribbons are the soul of the look, while reddish-pink contacts enhanced that hollow, fragile vulnerability. The character inherently carries a quiet, aloof, and somewhat detached temperament, requiring no exaggerated expressions. The grey rabbit plush in hand served as a great prop; holding it embraced broke up rigid lines and made the framing more dynamic. For anyone setting up a White studio at home to shoot, the biggest hurdle is finding the right angles while balancing expression, body posture, and foot lines. Holding the pose in Image 2 was physically tiring, but completely worth it for the final result. Post-processing mainly brightened the overall tone to preserve a pure aesthetic, minimizing edits on leg lines to keep the natural folds and sheer texture of the white tights.
