This Hayase Yuuka set was shot in a pure White studio because this Blue Archive character's blue-and-white color palette pops remarkably against a solid white background, with the shooting focus placed squarely on showcasing leg contours. The wig consists of voluminous, deep-blue twin tails; brushing such long hair proved trickier than anticipated, requiring constant care not to flatten the ends between takes. The uniform jacket features a subtle grid texture, while the tie and skirt tailoring were custom-made. The skirt is cut rather short, so to honor her canon Thick thighs setting, striking poses—especially standing on one leg or seated—demanded deliberate muscle control to make the legs appear wonderfully supple yet natural.

The challenge of a White studio shoot lies in exposure control. With pure white flooring and white surroundings, it's easy to overexpose the subject or end up looking visually flat. We utilized broad soft lighting complemented by reflectors to preserve translucent skin tones, while post-processing brightening paid close attention to shadow gradations on the legs to build three-dimensional depth rather than looking pasted onto the backdrop. Standing barefoot on the floor felt quite chilly, but to maintain the canonical mood, I went without shoes throughout. Photographer @Yato has a great eye for capturing emotion; when I initially worried a straight-on stance might look stiff, he suggested holding a smartphone prop, which instantly unlocked that casual, everyday charm.

When balancing on one leg as seen in the photos, tucking the back foot gently against the front calf, or adjusting thigh contact with the seat while sitting to create a gentle, natural compression, brings out that soft fullness. To achieve ideal results, I tested numerous sitting and standing angles alongside varying expressions from looking down to direct eye contact; this seated composition reaching toward the camera is my personal favorite, offering great perspective while showcasing the leg profile generously.

For makeup, reddish eyeshadow and red contact lenses stood out vividly against the clean white environment. The halo's floating position required constant mindfulness, as slight head tilts would obstruct vision, demanding substantial time for facial control. The beauty of a White studio is its pristine cleanliness, saving post-production from clutter removal to focus entirely on color grading and skin retouching. The entire shoot took a few hours with multiple touch-ups. Though standing barefoot for so long made my feet ache, seeing the refreshing, everyday results and the canon-faithful leg contours made it completely worthwhile. This White studio set aimed to convey her cool yet casually relaxed vibe, and I hope everyone appreciates the texture of this series.
