The spring sunshine filters through the pink cherry blossom branches and leaves onto my body, and shooting with such natural light indeed makes the skin tone look more translucent. This time, the makeup mainly focused on the complexion, without applying heavy eyeshadow, putting the emphasis on eyelashes and detailing to restore the character's lazy yet slightly stubborn demeanor as much as possible. The shooting schedule this time was actually quite tight, but fortunately, the weather was supportive, with both light and wind being just right. Although this kind of clear spring weather is perfect for taking pictures, we still had to hurry up and finish the main parts of the shoot before the intense midday light arrived.
Managing the wig was probably the part that took the longest preparation time this session. To ensure the fluffiness at the top and the natural drape of the hair strands, a lot of effort was spent on styling. Especially the curvature of the front bangs, it needed to fit the face shape without looking heavy. As the wind blew, the hair tips and flower branches intertwined. During candid captures, we relied entirely on the natural wind to help drive the direction of the hair strands, making the resulting dynamic effect much more natural. This outfit referenced the classic school style cosplay from the original work, with a cream-colored hoodie paired with a pink plaid pleated skirt, black stockings, and a well-textured brown shoulder bag—a coordination that balances daily life wear with character traits.
During the shoot, we specially chose this blooming cherry blossom outdoor scene as the background, angling slightly to the side so that the tree full of blossoms filled the upper part of the frame without stealing the visual center. To make the layers of the picture more distinct, the foreground retained a few petals fallen on the ground as an extension. When the wind blew, petals did indeed drift down; although catching that exact moment required some luck and a fast shutter speed, the final photos still carried a strong sense of narrative. Considering that the overall color tone is relatively light, we didn't overly raise the saturation and contrast during post-processing, keeping the original soft light-pink feel of the cherry blossoms. This way, the atmosphere of the frame looks clean and natural, neither exaggerated nor out of step with the character's own temperament.
After completing this outdoor photoshoot, I feel that combining such natural elements with the character's own personality is quite interesting. As the weather warms up, being able to record this image under the blooming cherry blossom forest was a very comfortable experience. The early spring atmosphere is truly suitable for this kind of lightweight look. If I encounter similar scenes in the future, I will likely try more of this raw and natural style for cosplay photography.
